By the end of the class, most students will be able to: 1.understand the conversation about school-leavers’ party through listening and speaking and grasp the passive voice; 2.answer the questions about the conversation by predicting, analyzing and inferring and know something about the traditional food from different countries; 3.make a plan for a party and be willing to take part in group activities as well as being able to feel the happiness of celebration.

Stage I Pre-listening Step 1 Warm-up Play a video about a party and ask: What are they doing --They’re having a party. Step 2 Lead in Would you like to have a party like this You are leaving the school soon. Let’s plan our school-leavers’ party. This is our task today.

Why did Betty make this phone She is doing the invitations and she made this phone to check some information. 3.Predict:What information on the party may Betty check 1.What kind of party is it 2.When will it be held 3.Where will it be held 4.What other information should you pay attention to Listen for the specific information Step 4 Listen and help Betty complete the invitation Invitation You are invited to the school leavers’ party on Saturday, 30th May at 5 p.m. in the school hall. Bring a traditional dish( finger food ). Come and enjoy the food, music and dancing.

Step 10 Homework Must do: 1. Listen and practice the conversation, pay attention to the pause. 2.Polish your party plan and make a party poster by using your mind map. Optional: Search for more information about different traditional dishes in different countries and make a vlog to introduce the dish you are most interested in.
