1. Now that winter is behind us, many people are starting to think about going abroad for the summer holidays.
Now that the rain has stopped, let’s go home at once.
2. This year, why not spread your wings and visit France
我们可以用“Why don’t you (we) + 动词原形 ”来替换。如:
Why not go out for a walk?= Why don’t you go out for a walk
3. With its world-famous landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, and its wide, tree-lined streets, Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Many countries in Asia, for example China and Thailand, have a lot of tourists throughout the year.
4. It offers many of the same attractions as the Disney parks in the USA.
(1) the same + 名词 + as;(2) as + 形容词 / 副词原级 + as,而且它们有时可以互换使用。如:
This room is as big as that one. = This room is the same size as that one.
5. If you want to go on to visit Britain, you can now do it without flying or taking a ferry.
和go on to do sth.。go on doing sth.是指继续做手头上没有做完的事情,而go on to do sth.
After having a rest, I went on doing my homework.
After cleaning the floor, I went on to clean the window.
6. One of the most scenic areas is the Loire Valley, where you can visit the old castles in which the kings and queens of France used to live.
The school in which he once studied is very famous.
(2)used to do sth. 而be used to do sth. 意思是“被用来做某事”,相当于be used for doing sth.;be used to doing sth.
I used to swim in the river when I was a child.
Bamboos are used to build houses there.
I am used to eating the food here.
7. In our city, we can see the influence of France in some ways.
句中way的意思是“方面”,in some ways表示“在某些方面”。
Do it in your own way.
8. A lot of young students from different countries go to France to further their studies.
We can’t go any farther / further without a rest.
If you need further information, I suggest you go to the library.

Their plan was to spend three weeks camping the Kuantan rainforest, in Malaysia, but the challenge quickly proved much harder than they had expected. Within hours of setting up the camp, they almost ran out of water and while they finally overcame that problem, they still had to stand mosquitoes (蚊子) and extreme hunger. The trip, which lasted 16 days, had to come to an end after Daniel cut his hand. The pair lost 46 pounds between them during their adventure.
Back in Kuala Lumpur, the English friends spent several days recovering and were crazy about high-calorie snacks like burgers, pizza and cookies before flying back to the UK. Despite all the hardships they faced, including constant shivering (持续的颤抖) during thunderstorms and hundreds of mosquito bites, the pair still thought their adventure was worth it.

“Everyone will face the life-and-death situation, but it’s normally not planned.
