Last Saturday evening, Sarah went to Alice’s costume party. Alice wore a black and white T-shirt, and had a toy bird on her shoulder! Sarah dressed up as her favorite singer. Sarah knew most of the people. A lot of them were members of the volleyball club which she was in. But there was a thin boy with funny clothes who she didn’t know at all. He had long curly red hair and big glasses, and his shoes and trousers were too big for him. Sarah greeted him, “that’s a great costume!” But the boy didn’t say anything. He just walked away. Then, Sarah heard Alice laughing behind her. “Sarah, that’s my brother William! He came downstairs for a glass of milk. He always looks like that!” Alice said.

Dear Grace,
Good to hear from you!
Everyone makes mistakes and I think it is a natural part of learning. Never be afraid of it. It’s a good thing to make mistakes. First of all, it means that you’re trying new things.
It’s always good to do so because that shows you’re growing. Secondly, you’re making progress by making mistakes. It is a good chance for you to learn more. As is known to all, we can learn from our own mistakes. I have a great way of treating mistakes. Every time I make a mistake, I always think, “That’s great! There’s one less mistake I will make in the future.” Face mistakes bravely and success will be just waiting for you.
I hope my advice can help you.

Robert was a photographer (摄影师). He liked to take photos of nature, great buildings and historical things, but he didn’t like to take photos of people. Unluckily, his job was to take photos of people, and that was where money was made. One day, a young girl named Chelsea started to change his mind, though.
Robert first met her one Sunday afternoon in his studio (工作室) when she came in with her family for a family photo. Family photos were almost as difficult as baby photos. There was always one kid that looked at the wall or a father that didn’t wear proper clothes. Chelsea’s family was not like that. Mom and Dad were well dressed. The 10-year-old girl was cute. She knew exactly how to pose (摆好姿势). They were a great family as a whole.
After they finished their photo shoot, they started choosing the pictures. Robert wondered if he could get Chelsea to do more photos. She was the kind of kid whose pictures they would love to put up on the walls of the studio. Robert asked Chelsea’s mother if she minded, and she asked Chelsea to decide.
Chelsea agreed, but with one condition: she could choose costumes herself. Robert agreed, laughing. Chelsea disappeared with one of the studio assistants (助理). She chose different costumes, and Robert took several great photos.
Robert, Chelsea, and Chelsea’s family later became friends. Whenever Robert was feeling down about his photography, Chelsea would come in to take silly pictures and cheer him up. In return for her photo shoots, Chelsea and her family got free photos.
