①while作连词，意为“当......的时候，和......同时”，while还可以表示“而，然而”之意，用来说明或强调两种事情或情形的不同。

② make sure意为“确认；查明；确保”。其后可接句子，或接介词of及宾语，用来引入需要确认的内容。

过去进行时句式结构
when 与while
1) “当……的时候”,如后面连接的动词为进行时态,则用while多于用when。when可与瞬间性动词或延续性不强的动词连用，while多与延续性动词连用。
2) 如果while前后的动词都是进行时态,while可译为“与此同时”。
