Dr Martin Luther King Jr. (1929 –1968) was one of the key leaders of the American civil rights movement. He became a civil rights activist early in his career. He led the Montgomery Bus Boycott (1955-1956) and helped found the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (1957). His efforts led to the 1963 March on Washington, where King gave his “I Have a Dream” speech. In 1964, King became the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center were more than just office build-ings. They are symbols of America, just as the Eiffel Tower & Big Ben represent their countries.
The World Trade Center was a com-bination of seven different complexes (综合体) located in the Financial Dis-trict of Manhattan. It was built in 1973.

辨析:hard与hardly
1) hard可充当形容词和副词两种角色。用作形容词有“硬的,困难的、艰难的”的意思;用作副词,意为“努力地、刻苦地”。
2)hardly只用作副词,其词义 “几乎不”,表示否定概念。
