Laughter is a social emotion, so we're 30 times more likely to laugh if there is somebody else with us than if we're on our own.
We laugh to show that we agree with what someone says; that we remember the same thing that we're talking about. People will also use laughter to try and mask other emotions.People will laugh to try and pretend they're not upset, or embarrassed or in pain. People will use laughter to get other people to do things. If you get someone laughing, they will tell you more about themselves.
Laughter can sometimes feel contagious(有感染力的). You can probably think of occasions when you've been watching television or listening to the radio, maybe it's been broadcast live, and the presenter or presenters start to get the giggles(咯咯的笑). If you chuckle, the contagion is working. And it's called behaviourally contagious phenomena(现象),which are things you can catch from somebody else just because they're doing them. You might have noticed this happens with yawning, it happens a lot with laughter.
As you know, there are lots of health benefits from laughing. You are more relaxed when you laugh. So as soon as you start laughing, you get a reduction in adrenaline( 肾上腺素). You also get an increased uptake of the body's naturally circulating endorphin( 内啡肽). Now, that is because you do quite a lot of exercise at your ribcage(胸腔) when you laugh. It's exactly the same as a runner's high or the good feeling you get after exercising. And interestingly, that's true of laughter even if you've completely pretended to laugh.
Unluckily, laughter can also have a darker side. When we laugh ha-ha-ha, breathing out, we do squeezes with ribcage. These big squeezes, particularly if you're laughing really hard, are quite stressful for your heart and your lungs and that can mean if you have some sort of problem with your heart or your lungs or your blood vessels, you can put them under more strain. And throughout history, there are examples of people who have died of laughing.
So if you want to get your endorphin going, you can start by laughing out loud.
27. You laugh to while your friend states his team beat your favourite one excitedly.

B. You're likely to keep calm while a TV presenter is laughing.
C. Laughing hard is possibly harmful to patients with heart illness.
D. You're hardly able to get the same feeling from laughing as exercising.

Do you have trouble trying to create the next big idea
Sometimes the answer isn't to just force an idea out of your mind.
Instead, you might want to try sitting back, relaxing and letting your mind wander(走神). Yes, you heard that correctly. If you are in need of a new idea, try daydreaming.
Daydreams allow your mind to run freely and even increase productivity in some cases. Daydreaming develops creativity which is why you have an ah-ha moment and sudden insight about a situation. Daydreaming allows you to uncover thoughts and ideas you did not realize you even had and get the thoughts hidden under the surface.
Researchers from the University of California, Santa Barbara, found an association(联系) between daydreaming and creative problem-solving. Their study includes making participants(参与者) first do an "unusual-use task". They had to try to come up with as many different ways to use an object as they could.
Then, the participants chose to do one of the following four things before doing the "unusual-use task" again; complete a difficult task, complete an easy task, take a 12-minute break, or skip(跳过) a 12-minute break and move right on to the task exercise again.
Surprisingly, the group that performed best was the one that completed the easy task. Many participants reported that they were daydreaming while performing the easy task. So the researchers believed that this daydreaming might have helped unlock their creativity.
But how could daydreaming help the brain come up with creative ways The answer is something known as "unconscious thought". Even when you are not actively working to solve a problem, it is still in the back of your mind. Your brain is still thinking about the problem, but in a much more subtle(不易察觉的) way.
When you daydream, your mind is allowed to think in ways it normally would not.
Because it is free of control, it can create completely new and out-of-the-box ideas.
Great ideas never come easily, but that does not mean you always have to work hard to get them. Feel free to do what you want and let your mind wander.
30.The "unusual-use task" included having participants _______.
A. complete a very simple task B. achieve a very difficult task
C. have a break for 12 minutes D. find various uses for an object
31.Those who completed the easy task performed best because ________.

B. they saved time for the following task

C. think about a problem without even knowing it
D. stop processing information from the outside world

阅读短文,根据短文内容回答问题。
When you talk about, or even think about Iron Man, the first image that pops into your head is the red and gold suit worn by Tony Stark. It provides Stark strength, protection against most attacks (攻击) and the power of flight. Iron Man is just a story, but the suit is not. Engineers call it an exoskeleton (外骨骼). It is the protective or supporting structure covering the outside of the body.
In fact, the exoskeletons were used in hospitals at first. They have changed the lives of many people with injuries (受伤) or illnesses that affect movement. A disease had paralyzed Stacey Kozel and she could not walk anymore. But in 2016, she went hiking with an exoskeleton. In recent years, more and more exoskeletons have been used in factories. It is easy for people to do the tiring or dangerous work with the exoskeletons. “We usually pay attention to efficiency (效率). Using the exoskeletons saves us much time and money. The workers can make more products at the same time. “One factory manager said. “Also, wearing the exoskeletons can reduce the risk of injury. “What’s more, exoskeletons can be used in rescue (救援) operations, providing workers with a lot of strength to lift heavy objects while protecting them from being hurt by falling weights.
However, the global spread of exoskeletons remains difficult. For one thing today’s exoskeletons are expensive because they need to be charged (充电) regularly. For another, most exoskeletons can help people do only one type of movement. A company called SuitX is developing new forms of exoskeletons now. The company hopes people of all ages can use their products in the future.
That would be really cool, but some people worry that the technology will divide humanity. People who can afford exoskeletons will become stronger and achieve more than those without suits. We may end up with two classes of humanity: the superhumans and everybody else. That wouldn’t be fair. Also, researchers have found that when people work in exoskeletons, muscles (肌肉) compete with each other, causing the brain to work less efficiently. Over time, it can also cause harm to the body.
So will exoskeletons harm or benefit humanity No one knows for sure. More research is needed.
34.What is an exoskeleton
35.What did Stacey Kozel do with an exoskeleton in 2016
36.Why are today’s exoskeletons expensive
37.Would you like to have an exoskeleton Why or why not (List at least two reasons)
