The streets of the Land of the Busy Bees were full of people. The people were busy with their work. Everyone worked, and everyone had something to do. Even if you looked around carefully, you couldn’t have found a lazy person. And there was no one begging for food or money.
“I understand,” said Pinocchio tiredly, “this is no place for me! I was not born for work.”
But at the same time, he began to feel hungry. He hadn’t eaten anything in twenty-four hours.
What was to be done
There were only two ways for him to get something to eat. He had to either work or beg.
He was too ashamed to beg. His father had always told him that begging should be done only by the sick or the old. He had said that they were the real poor in this world. They had lost the ways of getting bread with their own hands. They were the only people that needed our help. All others should work. If they didn’t work and went hungry, they deserved it.
Just then, Pinocchio saw a man walking slowly toward him. He looked very tired. He was pulling two heavy carts full of coal with great difficulty.
Pinocchio, thinking that the man looked kind, looked down at the ground and said in shame,
“Would you be so good as to give me a penny I feel weak with hunger.”
“Not only one penny,” answered the Coal Man. “I’ll give you four if you help me pull these two carts.”
“I am surprised!” answered Pinocchio, feeling very much insulted. “I wish you to know that I have never been a donkey. And I have never pulled a cart.”
“Well, good for you!” answered the Coal Man. “Then, my boy, if you really feel weak with hunger, eat two pieces of your pride And hope they don’t make you feel sick.”
In less than half an hour, at least twenty people passed by. Pinocchio begged each one of them, but they all answered, “Aren’t you ashamed Instead of begging in the streets, why don’t you look for a job and buy your own bread ”

Imagine you walk into your office, with the temperature just right. You sit down and a very valuable and meaningful day begins. This is the kind of smart office that engineers are trying to make. It uses technology to help workers perform their best at work.
It can be bad for your health if you sit in front of a desk for too long. For example, it can cause pain in the back and the neck. Sanon, a company in Zhejiang, built UP7 to deal with this. As a smart lifting desk, UP7 can tell how long a user has been sitting in the chair. When it reaches the setting time, it will “tell” the user to stand up and walk around. It does this by either shaking the table or sending messages to the user’s phone.
The company also invented a kind of smart chair to match with the table. “The chair is so comfortable. It can adjust its arms and height according to your body shape,” a user in Zhejiang said on Xiaohongshu.
In smart offices, you probably won’t use paper notebooks. Instead, you can try electronic paper books to put your work online. N10 from Hanvon Technology in Beijing, is a new “notebook” like this. It uses a screen that doesn’t produce much light. Users write or draw with an electronic pen on the screen.
“It is just like reading and writing on real paper,” a user said. “You can organize, search and save notes easily. You usually need several big paper notebooks to do what the electronic notebook does.”

B.By stopping users from sitting for too long.
C.By moving the chair to relax users’ bodies.
D.By lifting the desk to stop users from working.
28.What does the underlined word “adjust” in Paragraph 3 probably mean
A.Miss. B.Change. C.Depend. D.Repair.
29.Why is N10 better than a paper notebook
A.Because N10 has a big screen.
B.Because N10 can provide light for people to read.
C.Because N10 can read and write on its own.
D.Because N10 can easily organize, search and save notes.
30.In which part of a newspaper may the passage come from

根据下文“If you say ‘Desi Chai’, it will cost you 5...the word ‘please’, and the chai will come at a price of 3.”
根据前文“according to how polite they are at the time of placing their order”可知,此处表示添加礼貌用语会让价格降低,动词add“添加”符合语境,此处是祈使句,句首用动词原形,句首首字母大写。故填Add。

故填his。
分析“an American café...had introduced the same rule”可知,空格处是定语从句的引导词,在从句中作主语,先行词是an American café,指物,结合所给单词,that符合语境。故填that。
分析“they will ask again more...”

Dear parents,
I will graduate from junior high school soon, and I’d like to talk about my life and studies in school to you.
In the past three years, I think I have worked hard and made some good friends, and I am really happy. But there is probably something wrong between us. I know you love me so much, but I also know you may be not interested in some of my hobbies, such as playing basketball, playing the guitar and chatting with my friends. They really waste time, but they are parts of my life. So I hope you can encourage and support me to do something that I like. Now I have already grown up a lot. I will keep on studying hard to get good grades and achieve my dream. Besides, I hope you can spare your time to stay and chat with me, so we can get on better.
Pinocchio begged each one of them, but they all
answered, “Aren’t you ashamed Instead of begging in the streets, why don’t you look for a job and buy your own bread ”

When it reaches the setting time, it will “tell” the user to stand up and
walk around.
26.What is the main idea of Paragraph 1
A.A smart office will make the work day longer.
B.A smart office will offer more jobs to engineers.
C.A smart office can help workers work at their best
D.A smart office can check a person’s body temperature.
27.How does UP7 protect users’ bodies
A.By making calls to users.
