一、语篇研读
What：本单元的主题是“Be a Champion”共6个语篇；本课是单元的第二课，为一封电子邮件。在邮件中，来自加拿大的Danny 和中国笔友李明就“Record”这一话题进行了交流。Danny 谈到了自己所在班级的两个纪录和两个世界纪录及自己最喜欢的纪录；李明主要提到自己刚打破了校跳远纪录；两人都表达了自己对纪录的感受。文章中，对纪录进行描述时，用到了形容词和副词的比较等级,此语法项目在八上第五单元已出现，本单元继续学习并在语境中加深对比较等级的理解和实际运用。
Why：L32通过李明和丹妮互相介绍我最爱的记录以及李明展示自己突破了校园跳远记录，激发学生想了解更多的纪录的好奇心。从而为后面奥运起源、文化、创新文本起到铺垫的作用。本文的价值取向在于学生通过对本文的学习，能够正确认识“Record”的价值所在。
How：L32主要是由世界纪录延伸到班级纪录这一话题，让学生谈论自己熟悉的班级之最，在此过程中培养他们敢于用英语表达自己熟悉人物的能力，感受他们的进取精神。
二、教学目标
通过本课的学习，学生能够：
1.Master the new phrases and sentences.
2.掌握形容词、副词的比较级和最高级用法。
3.通过了解一些世界记录，并由此延伸到谈论班级记录，培养学生拼搏精神。
