Teaching Procedure: Step 1 Let’s review ! Review what students have learnt about in Section B 2b, Singapore-A place You Will Never Forget. T: What do you remember about Singapore Ss: … T: How can we introduce a place Guide ss to talk about the location, language, population, weather, attractions, food… Step 2 Let’s learn ! Read the text, and think how to organize a passage about introducing their hometown. T: What are the steps to write a passage Present the six steps: Step 1: Analyze the text After reading the text, help ss to find that it is an exposition. As for the person, we need to use the first person, and the third person. And the tense, we need to use simple present tense to introduce a place. Step 2: Make an outline Guide ss to pay attention to the structure: A good passage need to have a beginning, body, ending. T: What can we write about in each part Ss:… Step 3: Make a rich body T: Let’s think how to make a rich body How can we give more details about the hometown Give some useful expressions to introduce different aspects of a place including location, size, population, weather, history, places to visit, things to eat… Step 4: Write a draft Show a draft. T: Can you put these linking words and sentences into the passage Step 5:Polish T:Can you rewite some sentences to make it better Step 6: Read and complete Step 3 Let’s write !
