教学重点: 1. Know some basic information about whales, reasons why they are in danger and ways to protect them.
2. Consolidate the use of comparatives and superlatives.

2. Learn how to revise the writing.
教学过程
Step 1. Warm-up & Lead-in 1. Greeting: The teacher greets students. 2. Revision: Review the reading passage about pandas in this unit. Guide students to talk about the appearance, food, living place, ability, reasons for protection and ways of protection. Step 2. Pre-writing 1. Free talk: Talk about endangered animals and lead to the topic—whales. 2. Pair work: Students share some basic information about whales with partners; Think about the reasons why whales are in danger and how to protect them. 3. Exercise: Students finish the exercise in 3a. 4. Motivation creating: Advise students to take action to protect whales by writing a proposal. 5. Outlining: Guide students to make an outline before writing. (Writing Tip 1: The outline can help to organize your writing better.) Step 3. While-writing Students write a proposal for protecting whales. Step 4. Post-writing 1. Revising: ①The teacher uses some examples to guide students to revise their writings. (Writing Tip 2: Various expressions and sentence patterns make your writing richer. Writing Tip 3: Proper linking words make your writing more logical.) ②Students revise their writing according to the checklist. 2. Consolidating: Students finish the exercises in Self Check and review what they have lerned in this unit. Step 5. Homework 1. Have to do: Polish(润色) your proposal and email it to WAP. 2. Choose to do: ①Write a proposal for protecting other endangered animals. ②Make a poster about whales and email it to WAP.
