该句型意为“某人长什么样？”，用于询问某人的外貌。常用“主语+be+描述人物外貌特征的形容词.”或“主语+have/has+一个或多个形容词+名词.”回答。

—What does your sister look like 你姐姐长什么样？
—She is very tall. She has short curly hair. 她很高，留着短短的卷发。
【拓展】“What + be +主语 +like ”意为“某人是什么样的人？”，多用于询问某人的性格或品质。答语中的形容词通常用来修饰人的性格或品质的词，常见的有：friendly (友好的)、strict (严格的)、nice/kind (友善的)、shy (害羞的)、quiet (文静的)等。
—What is your mother like 你妈妈是什么样的人？
—She is quite kind. 她相当善良。

“be +of+形容词+名词”
用于描述人或事物的特点、品质。
be of medium height中等身高
be of medium build中等身材
My English teacher is of medium height and of medium build. 我的英语老师中等身高，中等身材。
3. Does Sally have long or short hair？Sally有长发还是短发？(教材P50 2a)
此句为选择疑问句，提出两种或两种以上的情况并对它做出判断或选择。句型结构为：一般疑问句 ＋ or ＋ 另一备选对象。选择疑问句不能用 yes 或 no 来回答，只能根据实际情况作答。
选择疑问句中，or 前面的部分读升调，后面的部分读降调。
例：—Do you like English or math？
你喜欢英语还是数学？
—I like English.
我喜欢英语。
4. Yeah, but I may be a little late. 但是我可能要晚一点(教材P50 2d)
(1)may be 意为“可能(是)；也许(是)”。may be中may是情态动词，be是动词原形，两者一起构成谓语动词。
例：My pen may be in your bag.我的钢笔也许在你的包里。
(2)a little 意为“一点；少量”，修饰形容词/副词或不可数名词。
例：There is a little water in that glass. 那个杯子里有一点水。
【易混辨析】few/a few与 little/a little
few 表示否定含义，“几乎没有” 修饰可数名词复数 There are few eggs in the refrigerator. 冰箱里没几个鸡蛋了。
a few 表示肯定含义，“少量；一些” His mother works a few hours a day.他妈妈一天工作几个小时。
little 表示否定含义，“几乎没有” 修饰不可数名词 I have little free time. 我几乎没有空闲时间。
a little 表示肯定含义，“一点；少量” I know a little French. 我懂一点儿法语。
