Do you have a “dazi” (搭子) The idea is simple—People come together to join in an activity they all enjoy. Many people are looking for “dazi”, or activity partners on the Internet. “dazi” can appear in many different ways in daily life, from dining to studying, working and even going to the toilet! Earlier this year, topics about “dazi” caused a hot discussion among young people. According to a study, more than half of Chinese young people have at least one “dazi”.
The relationship between “dazi” is simpler than a normal one. “Traditional friendships need a lot of time to keep, but having a “dazi means you don’t need to carry those burdens (负担).” said Shi Zhimin, a 17-year-old student. Her idea was agreed by Ge Jinyuan, another high school student who finds herself difficult to deal with close relationships. “Having a “dazi” is more comfortable for me, because I don’t need to spend much energy on it, and I can focus more on my studies,” Ge said.
Ge Jinyuan enjoys talking during lunch and dinner with her meal “dazi”. “We are both crazy about delicious food so we always share our views on the canteen food and look for some other fine food,” said Ge. “If my meal “dazi” doesn’t go to school some day, I’ll be sad for the rest of the day,” her “dazi”, Li Xin, added. “She is outgoing, so am I. That’s why we are always together.”
What’s more, having a “dazi” may bring some unexpected (意想不到的) results. “Once, my game “dazi and I made a mistake when playing a game, but we worked together to correct it. By this, I find that I have a better understanding of teamwork!” Shi said.

Giving gifts is a way of showing thanks or love. The rules of accepting (接受) gifts are different in China and in the West.
When Lucy, from the UK, gave a gift to her Chinese friend for the first time, she couldn’t understand it. “He refused (拒绝) to accept it twice, and when he finally accepted it, he didn’t open it. He just took it and put it away. After that, I never heard about it again. He never said he liked it or not.”
In the West, it is polite to open it in front of the giver and say thanks. When you get a gift, the giver hopes that you are thrilled and really like it. But it is different in China. Usually, people don’t open the gift until the giver leaves. If they open the gift in front of the giver, the giver will think they are not polite. For the same reason, the Chinese will refuse a gift twice or three times before accepting it. If you are the giver, give it again until it is accepted after the third time.

Akuapem is in the eastern part of Ghana. The sun there shines all the time. The local people are very friendly and hospitable (好客的). Now let’s have a look at how Akuapem people receive a visitor.
A visitor is often welcomed warmly in a family of Akuapem. After the visitor is welcomed into the house, he is offered a seat and water at the very beginning, because the host thinks that the visitors must have come from a very long journey and need water. If there is a group of visitors, the host will greet the visitors from right to left. And the host shakes only with his right hand, because Akuapem people think the left hand is not clean.
Next, the visitor is asked how his journey was and why he has come. While the conversation (对话) is going on, the wife and the children, especially girls, are preparing food for the visitor. The visitor can choose his favourite food. After the visitor finishes eating, the host and the visitor go on with their conversation. Usually this is a short one because the visitor is getting ready to say “Goodbye”.
When the visitor is leaving, he is often given some food. He is also accompanied (陪伴) by one of the children to the nearest station. The child who accompanies the visitor will not come back home until the visitor leaves safely.

When you walk into the small Australian town of Coober Pedy, you may be surprised by what you can see. It’s just barren land there!
So why even call it a town There are more than 4,000 people of 48 nationalities. However, all of the people live underground!

Not only do their walls have the color of beautiful red, but also the structures have all the modern equipment like walk-in closets, modern kitchens and televisions. Life in the future will be different from life today. Between then and now many changes will happen. But what will the changes be
The population is growing fast. There will be many people in the world and most of them will live longer than people live now.
Computers will be much smaller and more useful, and there will be at least one in every home. And computer studies will be one of the important subjects in schools then. People will work fewer hours than they do now and they will have more free time for sports, watching TV and traveling. Traveling will be much cheaper and easier. And many more people will go to other countries for holidays.
There will be changes in our food, too. More land will be used for building new towns and houses for all the people. Then there will be less room for cows and sheep, so meat will be more expensive. Maybe no one will eat it every day. Instead, they eat more fruits and vegetables. Maybe people will be healthier. Work in the future will be different, too. Robots will do dangerous and hard work. Because of this, many people will not have enough work to do. This will be a problem.
