if或whether引导的宾语从句
（时间：60分钟，满分：100分）
由 if 或 whether 引导的宾语从句, if 或 whether在句中不充当任何成分，只起连接作用,但不能省略。在句中翻译成“是否”。这种宾语从句常是一般疑问句转化而来的。
引导宾语从句通常用 whether 而不用 if 的几种情况：
(1) whether引导的从句居于句首。如:
Whether Ted agrees with me or not, I don't know.
泰德是否同意我的意见，我不知道。
(2)从句位于介词后作介词宾语。如：
John doesn't care about whether it will rain tomorrow.约翰并不关心明天是否会下雨。
(3) whether在不定式前,与不定式组成词组。如:
Sarah didn't tell me whether to go or stay.萨拉没告诉我要去还是要留。
(4)主句的谓语动词是 discuss等动词。如:
Sam is discussing whether they will take the subway with his classmates.
