Are you interested in the idea of space travel More than ever before, it is becoming a reality.
In 2021, two people flew into space aboard spacecrafts developed by their own respective companies.
When explaining the importance of space travel, one told the media that many people are not “fully educated as to what space does for the Earth”. He said that we need more rocketships going into space because they can help us to know more about things like climate change.
“We have to build a road to space so that the younger generation and their kids can build a future,” the other said. He added that space tourism is the first step toward moving people (and heavy industry) into space to prevent an energy crisis on the Earth.
But some people have different opinions. They think it is part of the so-called “billionaire space race”, which offers what’s seen by some as “joyrides” to the super-wealthy.
According to Forbes, one open seat on the rocket going to space was sold for $28 million at auction (拍卖会) in June.
“A lot of people believe there is a market for space tourism, but right now it’s at the very high end,” McCurdy, a space policy expert in the UK, told a website. “If we’re going into space, who’s the ‘we’ Is it just the top 1 per cent of the top 1 per cent ”
So with the sky-high prices, should ordinary people give up their dream of space exploration
Maybe not. The US flight engineer Jason said that we are at the point at which space tourism is a privilege (特权) preserved for the super-rich, but that doesn’t mean the trend will last forever. He predicts that the price will come down. “Maybe in 10 to 15 years, it’s a decision between do I buy a new car and do I go into space. We should invest in a future that allows us to live somewhere else.”
( ) 34. What does the underlined word “crisis” mean in this passage
A. A big chance. B. A bad situation. C. A special type. D. A power station.
( ) 35. What do the two people who flew into space think of space tourism
A. It is too dangerous for humans. B. It is meaningful to the future generations.
C. It is a privilege for the super-wealthy. D. It may cause problems like climate change.
( ) 36. If there will be, what might be the next timeline according to the passage
A. 2030s Space tourism: Joyrides for all.
B. 2020s Space tourism: Joyrides for private citizens.
C. 2030s Not only super-rich went into space.
D. 2020s The public enjoyed space exploration.
( ) 37. Which of the following is NOT mentioned in the passage

Rocky neighbours
Avebury is near the far more famous Stonehenge (巨石阵). What is interesting about it is that a village has grown up around a collection of stones, unlike Stonehenge, which stands alone. Avebury and Stonehenge are just two of about 1, 300 stone circles all over the UK. Many of them are in fantastic locations.
Stone circles through history
Some of them are UNESCO World Heritage sites, and several have local stories connected to them. For example, the Merry Maidens in West Cornwall is a group of 19 stones. According to the story, they were young women maidens who became stones for dancing on a Sunday.
When and why
Early historians thought that the stone circles were temples for the Druids who arrived in the UK in about 500 BC. Later research has shown that they are far older than that—at least 4, 000 years old. Stonehenge could have been built 5, 000 years ago. Some experts believe they acted like calendars and have shown that some stones line up with sunrise or sunset on the longest and shortest days of the year. Others believe they were places for the dead bodies of the local rich and powerful.
Can I see one
We may never know their original purpose, but each one leaves the visitor with a strong sense of the shortness of our existence in the sea of history. There are groups of stone circles and other prehistoric monuments (史前遗迹) throughout the British Isles, so wherever you are staying, you must make at least one part of your tour.
