once upon a time意为“从前“,常用于一般过去时。
类似的短语有:long long ago ,a long time ago等。

2. She decided to go for a walk in the park with her basket.
她决定提着篮子去公园里散步。
(1) decide作动词,意为“决定”,主要用法如下:
①其后接名词或代词。
I can’t decide the date of the meeting.
我决定不了这次会议的日期。
②其后接动词不定式或“疑问词+动词不定式”。
decide (not) to do sth.决定(不)做某事。
He decided to buy a car. 他决定买一辆汽车。
We can’t decide when to start.
我们无法决定何时动身。
3. Oh, did she often go for a walk in the forest alone
哦,她经常独自去森林里散步吗?
alone在此句中作副词,意为“单独;独自地”,在句中作状语,
相当于by oneself。还可作形容词,意为“单独的”,只能作表语,
形容独自一人的状态,不含感彩。
【链接】lonely只能作形容词,既可作表语,也可作定语。修饰人时
意为“孤独的,寂寞的”;修饰地方时意为“偏远的;荒凉的” 。

(2) little在此处用作形容词,意为“小的”,多用作定语,修饰名词。

①“hurry+副词/介词短语”意为“匆忙去……”,hurry习惯上不与
go、come、move 等动词搭配使用。

②hurry up赶快。用于肯定句中,在否定句中通常不用up。
He told us to hurry (up).他叫我们赶快。

《金凤花姑娘和三只熊》
