Research shows that being in nature makes people feel good, whether they're roughing it in the wilderness for days or just hanging out at a local park for a while. One study was conducted in the city of Birmingham, Alabama. Researchers found that most participants' mood and well being improved significantly when they spent time in urban parks, even though the average visit was only around half an hour.
__1__ For example, scientists in the United Kingdom studied the impact of the “30 Days Wild” campaign. It challenged people to interact with nature for 30 days by enjoying earthy activities like feeding birds and planting flowers. Participants were measurably happier and healthier throughout the challenge...and for months afterwards, too. __2__
How does nature boost people's happiness Scientists say that spending time in natural settings reduces stress and anxiety, which benefits mental and physical health. Research shows our brains are more relaxed in natural settings.
To most people, it's not news that nature can be calming. But multiple studies have found that spending time in nature also has some more surprising benefits, like improving creativity and problem solving. __3__ Another found that exposure to nature helped people score better on tests. There's more proof that going outside is a smart move!
What accounts for the connection with cognition and creativity It could be that a good dose of nature acts as a cure to information overload. Everyday life involves a lot of multitasking. Some scientists theorize that spending time in nature enables our brains to rest and recover from mental tiredness.__4__
Naturally, scientific studies don't cover everything that's great about the great outdoors. __5__ From recreation and exercise to happiness and creativity, there are lots of upsides to getting outside.

How to Increase Your Levels of Optimism
The way in which you achieve your goals, face challenges, and overcome failures depends largely on your levels of optimism. Not everyone sees life in the same way. __1__
Change your negative thoughts. Your mind takes in negative memories and makes them bigger and more significant than they really are.__2__ The next step is to reduce them by comparing them to related or similar memories that are more pleasant. In this way, you gradually change them and select new thoughts. This requires a learning process that'll take some time to practice. However, with patience, you'll achieve the desired results.
Express gratitude. When you face a challenge, it's advisable to figure out what's going well. By taking the time to do this, you allow yourself to register the positive aspects that you experience. To help your brain store these positive events, you should take time each week to analyze what you should be grateful for. __3__
Repeat positive affirmations(肯定). One key element for increasing your levels of optimism that you get with previous two steps is positive affirmations. In fact, these messages that you repeat to yourself most regularly are the ones that you believe in and that determine your vision of life. __4__ You can start with one or two affirmations that represent the values you want to live by and the goals you want to achieve. For example, tell yourself “Every day I'm improving” or “I'm living my best moment”. __5__ Furthermore, it'll make you stronger in the face of them and you'll maintain your optimism.

How to Avoid Distractions While Studying
You know you really want to do well in your study. Your parents have put the pressure on you, or you promised yourself you would do better. But you keep getting distracted (分心)! How can you solve the problem __1__
Find a place that makes you want to study. If the books and seriousness of the library put you in the mood for focusing on study, go for it. If the comfortable chairs and coffee at your local café are what you need to get through your reading for English, go there. __2__
Set a study schedule. When you have many subjects to study for, it can seem hard to get through everything. Give yourself a schedule where you set specific times to study particular subjects. __3__ Besides, change subjects every two hours.A little variety keeps you refreshed and focused.
__4__ If you find yourself distracted from studying by thoughts about everything else, spend 5 minutes thinking about them, but then tell yourself studying is your main task now. If you are tired of study, step away. A short break helps refresh you so that you can stay focused when you come back to studying.
Go off the electronic devices. Texting, social media, calls and other distractions that come from our electronic devices are some of the biggest barriers to staying focused when studying. __5__ Turn off the distracting electronic devices!

 2  You next have to get the attention of the busy waiters rushing about to attend to the customers.You will usually hear the words “hot water” being shouted out as they pass,even if they are not holding any such thing! 3  In between trying to catch the attention of the waiters and looking through the menu,you will hear customers complaining about the slow service.
Once the waiter comes to take your orders,he is impatient.Sometimes,these waiters would just walk away from indecisive customers and the latter would have to work hard at getting some attention again.Usually,the waiters shout the orders out to the cooks located deep in the kitchen. 4 
Whenever the crowd gets too thick,the waiters will ask customers to share their tables with those standing.When the tables are shared by two different groups of people,the loudness becomes incredibly deafening.With plates clanking and people talking loudly,you need to shout to be heard. 5  The hardworking waiters can finally sit down for a chat or have their cigarettes.The activity at the eating place winds down,ready to recover before the next day of madness arrives.

Because they’re supportive. 2  They believe in people and want to see them do well.They want to make the people they love happy.Sensitive people are often great listeners—they want to know people and understand what they’re thinking and feeling.They want to be there for you when you need them.
 3  Sensitive kids typically have unbelievable imaginations.They’re dreamers.Their creativity shines through in all they do,and ideas just come to them.They show a great appreciation for the arts and they’re inspired by the beauty they find in the world.They notice that tiny little worms crawling on the sidewalk and the puffy (松软洁白的) clouds in the sky.
Because they are unique. 4  They’re insightful and reflective—they like to take the time to be alone and spend time with their thoughts.They appreciate calm and quiet moments.
Because they’re strategic.Psychologist Dr.Elaine Aron,the author of The Highly Sensitive Child,says highly sensitive children are “quick to grasp small and not so obvious changes and generally behave conscientiously(勤勉地)”. 5

The reason most students do not play sports is because they feel lazy about it and don’t have the energy for it. 4  As a matter of fact,exercise pumps more oxygen through your blood and makes your entire system more active.
 5  Besides just being fun,sports can help you perform better in school,relax more and worry less,deal with setbacks,work better with others and increase your energy.
