当宾语从句是陈述句时,用that引导,that无词义,在从句中不充当成分,在口语和非正式文体中常常省略。
eg: All the students in Class 8 think that Mr. Zhang is humorous.八班的所有学生都认为张老师很幽默。
当主句的主语是第一人称(I,we),而且谓语动词是think,guess,believe,suppose等时,如果宾语从句表达否定意义,则一般将否定转移到主句上来,即“否定前移”。
eg: I don’t think the girl can do the work alone.我觉得这个女孩不能独自做这项工作。
①由that引导的宾语从句
2. 宾语从句的分类
Grammar
当宾语从句是一般疑问句时,常用if/whether引导,表示“是否”。
if/whether在句中不充当句子成分,但不能省略。
eg: I wonder if/whether you want to attend the meeting.
我想知道你是否想要参加这次会议。
She asked if/whether he will join in the football games.
她问他会不会参加足球比赛。
②由if/whether引导的宾语从句

一般情况下,if和whether可以互换。但是,在以下情况下,二者不可互换:
◇ whether之后紧跟or not时,不可与if互换。
eg: Nobody knows whether or not it will rain tomorrow.没有人知道明天会不会下雨。
◇ 在介词后只能用whether,不能用if。
eg: The boy worries about whether he has broken his computer.那个男孩担心他已经弄坏了他的电脑。
◇ 与动词不定式连用时,只能用whether ,不能用if。
eg: I can’t decide whether to go or to stay.我不能决定去还是留。
②由if/whether引导的宾语从句

若主句为一般现在时,则宾语从句要根据情况选择所需要的任何时态。
eg: He says (that) she is in London now.她说她目前在伦敦。
He says (that) she came to London last month.他说她上个月到了伦敦。
若主句为一般过去时,则宾语从句也要用过去的某种时态。
eg: He knew (that) she liked mooncakes.他知道她喜欢吃月饼。
He believed (that) she would win the game.他相信她会赢得比赛。
若宾语从句表示的是客观真理、自然现象或是格言、谚语等,无论主句是什么时态,宾语从句都要用一般现在时。
eg: The teacher said that a good beginning is half done.老师说好的开始是成功的一半。
3. 宾语从句的时态

无论主句是陈述句还是疑问句,宾语从句都要用陈述语序。
eg: They say that they will have a three-day holiday next week.他们说他们下周将有三天假期。
Could you tell me if/whether he knows her address 你能告诉我他是否知道她的地址吗?
Jane asked when she could start to prepare for the school concert.简询问她什么时候能开始准备学校音乐会。
Do they believe that he is smart enough to come up with a great idea 他们认为他足够聪明能想出一个好主意吗?
