your soldiers are continually
drinking and fighting?

老是酿酒斗殴。continually和continuously都可以表
示 “连续的,不间断地”,但continually表示“一段时间内多次发生”、“时断时续”或“中断时间很短而又接连发生”,而continuously指“连续不断地,不停歇地”。 e.g. The telephone has been ringing
continually in the office all morning.
整个早上办公室的电话铃声不断。
They are continually arguing: I
have had enough.
他们老是争吵不休,我烦透了。The telephone rang continuously
for five minutes.
电话铃声连续响了五分钟。
It rained continuously for five days.
连续下了五天雨了。7. I have had enough of your soldiers.
我烦透了你的士兵。have had enough of
对(某人或某事)感到腻烦而无法再容忍e.g. I have had enough of your
gossiping. Please keep quiet.
我厌倦了你的闲言碎语。请保持安
静。
I have had quite enough of your
impudence.
我受够了你的厚颜无耻。8. She’ll scratch out your eyes when she
hears how you’ve treated me.
她若知道你是如何待我的,她一定会
把你的眼珠子抠出来。scratch的意思是“抓; 搔, 挠, 抠, 刮擦,划”等。
短语有:
scratch one’s head
挠头(形容不知所措的样子)e.g. The test has left many students
scratching their heads.
这次考试难倒了一大片学生。9. Get my horses ready and collect
my baggage.
把马备好,收拾好行李。baggage n. 行李,是不可数名词
= luggage
e.g. The baggage will be delivered to
you at the station.?
行李将在车站交给你。He attached a label to his baggage.?
他往行李上贴了一个标签。
The railroad gives free transportation for a certain amount of baggage.?
铁路对一定数量的行李免费运送。
Our baggage has cleared customs.?
