【题型概述】
英语应用文属于实用型文体，如书信、通知、日记、广告等。应用文阅读要注意文中具体细节的把握与理解，弄清作者所传达的实际信息及表达的具体内容。阅读时采取速读与精读相结合的方法，力求快速精确地查出试题所设置的关键内容。
中考英语阅读理解测试中的应用文阅读理解材料主要有广告、便条、通知、新闻、信件、表格、图表等。应用文通常以简易的文体格式、简单的语言表达重要的信息。应用文的特点在于格式鲜明，目的性强，通常会以表格形式出现，有时会有很明显的小标题。大多数应用文的题目针对性很强，考生无需通读文章，只需通过题目中的关键词定位至原文寻找答案即可。而题目中的问题大都直接对应段落标题等，考生可快速定位。由于应用文大多数是传递信息的，所以应用文测试的题目大多设置为考查文章细节的题目。如：一篇海报的目的是提供活动的时间、地点、进行某项活动的费用等。
【阅读策略】
应用文阅读理解总体上要做到稳、准、快，在确保准确率的基础上提高阅读速度，以节省时间。解题时，要做到：
① 快速浏览知主题。快速浏览加粗字体的标题、小标题或加下划线的语句等最重要的信息，以了解语篇提供的是哪方面的信息，并判定行文方式。
② 速读题干，跳读定位信息。接下来阅读每一道试题，根据题干定位信息点，并在文章中找出答案或相关信息。在定位和寻找信息点的时候，可以充分利用加粗字体的标题、小标题、加下划线的语句等重要信息提高阅读和解题速度，如果每则信息的项目及其位置具有一致性和对应性，就可利用其一致性和对应性快速查找答案，查找信息时不一定要读完全文。
③细读解题信息。最后，根据查找的相关信息，经过思考后选出正确答案。

阅读理解解题秘籍--细节理解题
在阅读理解题目中,有相当一部分是考查细节和事实的题目。这类题目相对容易一些广东中考阅读理解中细节题的比重占一半以上。细节题主要考查考生对文章中阐述主题的细节与具体事实的把握能力。内容涉及询问事实、原因、结果、目的等。
这些题目有两个共同特点:
(1)凡属针对特定细节的考题,其正确答案大都可以在阅读材料中找到对应的文字部分作为验证。这一部分可能是一个词或短语,也可能是一个句子或相关的若干句子,但句式、用词和表达方式不同。
(2)干扰项往往是主体思想与细节混杂,正确答案细节和非正确答案的细节混杂,甚至真假混杂。因此,解答这类试题时,考生应快速阅读材料,抓住大意后,迅速浏览考题,确定关键词。然后,根据这些关键词,运用查读法,迅速查找关键信息,进而分析这些信息的结构和意义,理清逻辑关系,最后确定正确答案。
命题形式
1、直接理解题--通过四个“W”和一个“H”进行设问，即 what(事件)，when(时间)，where(地点)。why(原因)和how(经过)
2、语义转化题--通过改变题干的叙述方式或者以同义表达考查学生对文章的理解，要求学生迅速识别原文的信息，准确选出最佳答案。
3.计算题-- 一般涉及时间、年龄、价钱、数量、距离等简单计算。
解题方法——宜采用“题干定位法”
应用文阅读材料包含的某一方面的信息非常全面，能满足各种人对信息的需求，但在中考试题中，常常是 就某一点提问，以细节理解题为主，考生完全没有必要从头到尾全部
仔细阅读，因为材料中有很多冗余无效信息。做此类题时，宜采用“题干定位法”，即先阅读题干，然后根据问题要求，按照题目顺序依次有 针对性地结合题干关键词到文中定位答案范围，阅读相关部分，快速寻找有效信息，再把原文和选项相比 较。当问题与材料相同的时候，对号入座；如果问题与原文不同，则可以同义替换、归纳事实等。
