应用文:
Dear Paul,
Our school organized a field trip to Xixi Wetland for students last weekend. Xixi Wetland is an ecosystem that blends urban life with natural wetlands, known as the “green lung” of Hangzhou. We enjoyed drifting along the river, walking along the trails, observing birds and flowers, and experiencing the traditional countryside life. We also held a wetland park photography competition. This activity not only relaxed our minds and bodies but also increased everyone’s awareness of urban development and environmental protection. You are welcome to visit Hangzhou and explore Xixi Wetland with us if you have the opportunity!
Yours,
Li Hua

Paragraph 1:
One morning, I went out to pick up rubbish. Some people watched me with a strange look that seemed to say I was crazy. And suddenly, I remembered that old lady who often picked up rubbish years ago. The interesting thing was that I was acting just like her! As strange as it might sound, picking up rubbish is kind of fun for me! Gradually, many people realized I was volunteering to help make our town clean. They praised me and thanked me.
Paragraph 2:
Then I decided to encourage more students to do this in the town. Surprisingly, they agreed and we set up a volunteer organization. We bought each student a bright orange coat with words on it: Let’s make our town cleaner! And we took time to not only pick up rubbish but also sort through it and recycle it. Something amazing happened—the strangers around us helped out too! I thought to myself: “The old lady made all this happen; she made a big difference in my life.”

M: Cindy, how do you like your new house
W:I like that it's located in the center of the city, but Ifeel it's just too small for my family. I had wanted a three-bedroom house, but it was just too expensive downtown.
M: Yes, that's true. Now you understand why I moved to a place out of town. It's a bit inconvenient, for it takes longer to my company, but no one shares a room in my family.
Text 7

W: It's boring. Everybody is busy calling others. It seems to me that nobody is interested in singing and dancing.
M: People have got used to communicating with others on the phone.
W: But I don't think it's a good idea.
M: Neither do I. Anyway, I seldom talk with others on the phone.
W: Look at them. It seems that nobody is around them. Do you want to leave early
M: Of course. How about going shopping I want to buy a shirt and a pair of jeans.

M: Well, the manager who interviewed me was very friendly, but he asked a lot of questions. He asked me where I lived. What I majored in at university, what my last job had been, if I mind working overtime...
W: Did you tell him about the time you worked in a training school
M: Yes, I told him that I had worked there for five years. Then he asked me if I got married.
W: Well, bachelors are more popular. What else did he want to know
M: Then he asked me if I had a driver's license and Itold him that I was a good driver. And finally he asked me if I could start immediately.
W: Wow, so you got the job!
Text 9
W: Today I'm talking to Paul Bocuse who runs a famous restaurant. Paul, how did you get into the restaurant business
M: Well. I always wanted to open my own restaurant but had no money. So I got a job as a cook. I had many ideas for new dishes, which the ch ef thought would be popular, but the boss wasn't interested. That's when a friend told me I could run a restaurant with the help of the Internet.
W: How do you run your restaurant
M: Well, it works like this: I decide on a menu, then advertise it so people can book a meal. The most amazing thing is that all the advertising and orders are done through websites and apps. And because you know how many people you're cooking for, that feels good.
W: So why is it good for you
M: Well, various reasons. Like, that won't waste food any more. The greatest advantage, though, is by having ten customers at most, I don't need to hire a waiter.
W: Have you ever run into any trouble
M: Yes, but I think it has been a challenge for all restaurants. Because of the spread of the flu recently, to protect themselves from getting infected, people are unwilling to go out for dinner.
Text 10
Well, I've just come back from China. When it comes to Chinese people, most people will say they are hard-working and smart. But for me, what impresses me most is their honesty. Here, let me tell you about my several experiences there. I had to admit I was a careless man. I lost my wallet three times in China, but each time I got it back. The first time was in a pub. Iwas drunk and left my wallet with lots of cash on the counter. The pub owner happened to know one of my friends and asked him to return it to me. Another time was when I was in a taxi going home. My wallet slipped out of my pocket and I didn't notice. A few days later,a policeman called me and I went to the police station to fetch it. The third time was when I was traveling in a mountainous area. I went into a shop to buy some water. The shop owner was a middle-aged man. And again I left my wallet with credit card and ID card on the counter. This time, the shop owner mailed my wallet to me.
