From the perspective of time, Special English feature programs can be divided into two categories: one is every five minutes, and the other is every fifteen minutes. My earliest memories are of having two very old parents. My mother was 42 when I was born, which back then was seriously old to have a baby, and a little risky too. My oldest brother was 14 years older than me and the middle brother ten years older. When I was quite small they had both left home. I grew up almost like an only child. I tended to amuse myself and play in the garden and draw and paint and shoot. I suppose you do learn as an only child that you’re going to have to get on with life by yourself. You’re going to have to find things that excite and move you.
I was shipped off to Sunday school in Edinburgh when I was seven years old. I felt a proper Charlie, because I was the only little boy among the Sunday school children who was wearing a kilt (苏格兰短裙). I also felt rather threatened by the stories we were taught. Old-school Christianity was filled with punishment and anger that I didn’t really enjoy. For the rest of my attendance at Sunday school, I didn’t get closer than climbing a tree outside the church and hiding in the branches, waiting until the children came out, then dropping down to join the school team and walking out of the church to be met by my parents, who were then reassured that I’d been to Sunday school as I was supposed to.
When my parents moved to Blackpool, my aunt, who came to live with us, took me to two or three concerts. I got to see Cliff Richard, Adam Faith and the early Rolling Stones performing at Blackpool’s ABC Theatre-which, when I was 12 years old, was an important moment of recognising that that isn’t what I wanted to do with the rest of my life, because the music they played was not what I was enjoying. I was drawn to the blues and Black American folk music. It felt very real and human.

6.What experiences did the author have in his Sunday school
A.He liked wearing a kilt. B.He often studied in the trees.
C.He was threatened by others. D.He was often absent from school.
7.What can we infer from the text

Many people consider mosquito bites just part of summer living but these insects can carry diseases. Mosquitoes are actually some of the most dangerous creatures on the planet. According to the World Health Organization, mosquitoes cause over 700,000 deaths every year.
But there is new hope in the battle between man and mosquito. Scientists at Auburn University, in Alabama, may have found the secret to stopping mosquito-borne diseases. “We have created a type of fabric that blocks mosquito bites,” says John Beckmann, who leads the lab at the university,
Beckmann remembered a camping trip from which he returned riddled with kisses from mosquitoes despite wearing a long-sleeved shirt. “People say, ‘wear long sleeves’ a lot,” Beckmann said, “but long sleeves don’t block mosquitoes.”
While some companies are making what they state is bite-proof clothing, the clothing includes some harmful chemicals or is made of thick fabrics that are too hot to wear and are easily beaten by mosquitoes. That’s because there are holes in the makeup of their fabrics that mosquitoes and other biting insects can get through.
The key is to discover a fabric that can remove these holes and is still cool enough to wear in hot weather. “That is the reason why this project is not as easy as people think” said Beckmann. “You obviously need your clothes to be breathable. But that usually comes at the cost of letting mosquitoes bite through them. So the basic problem is keeping the holes there while blocking tiny mosquito mouth-parts at the same time.”
The team tried by using a computer numerical control knitting (编织) machine that could be programmed with different designs until they found a bite-proof one. The end result is a product that the researchers compare to popular high-quality athletic wear.
But the researchers are still not satisfied and will be spending the next year perfecting the comfort of the material and finally creating a clothing line. The hope is that finally any type of fabric can be knitted into the lab’s design, so that all kinds of clothing companies from baby clothing producers to dress designers could create bite-proof clothing.
8.What happened to Beckmann on a camping trip
A.He was badly bitten by mosquitoes.
B.He discovered a new kind of mosquito.
C.He felt unbearably hot with long-sleeved clothes.
D.He mastered some skills in dealing with mosquitoes.

B.Disadvantages of existing bite-proof clothing.
C.Advancements in bite-proof clothing.
D.Comparisons between different types of bite-proof clothing.

As AI art generators take the world by storm, some people wonder if their works should count as art at all. The technology is still developing and has some wrinkles to iron out (消除), which means there are indeed flaws to consider alongside the incredible artwork a good artificial intelligence can produce.
Art is classed as the product of imagination, skill, experience, and emotion, usually meant to represent something for the public to enjoy. Artists spent time and effort putting their inner worlds onto these works. Machine intelligence also puts a lot of work into sorting through tons of data, linking someone’s prompt (指令) to datasets, and trying to represent it as best as possible. The difference is that the AI is driven by commands instead of an emotional desire to express itself.
AI painters can produce over 1,000 original works of art with every tap of the enter key on a keyboard. But a mass-produced print of the Mona Lisa is worth less than the actual Leonardo da Vinci’s painting. Why Scarcity — there’s only one of the original. Should anyone pay for these things And if an artist puts AI masterpieces up for sale, what should the price be
AI art involves a program mimicking (模仿) the work of existing artists to create a new piece according to the request of a human. But who made the artwork, the machine or its user And can the original artists sue for (控告) copyright violation Such questions complicate the merging of artificial intelligence and the art industry, while fueling arguments against recognizing AI-generated art as marketable artistic products.
Once we’ve answered those questions, we can tackle the really big one: When an AI-generated painting wins an award, who gets the prize
12.How is AI art different from human art
A.It is the product of experience. B.It combines different styles of work.
C.It is not a mirror of artists’ emotions. D.It doesn’t cost much money to produce.
13.Why does the writer mention Mona Lisa in paragraph 3
A.To present the potential trouble with the value of AI art.
B.To introduce a new way of preserving art masterpieces.
C.To show the advantages of AI painters over human artists.
D.To prove the popularity of classic artworks among viewers.
14.What can we infer from paragraph 4
A.AI art promotes the sale of artistic products. B.AI art makes copyright issues more complicated.
C.Artists can create more works with the help of AI. D.There will be fierce competition in the art industry.
15.What is the purpose of the text
A.To persuade. B.To inform. C.To describe. D.To argue.

“Leave no track” is popular among many campers who are concerned about our environment and favor sustainable (可持续的) travel. Its goal is simple; to minimize human-created impacts on the natural world. 16
Reject plastic and paper. First and foremost, one of the easiest ways to reduce the impact of camping on the planet is to go plastic and paper-free. Instead of single-use plastics and paper plates, choose bamboo or other recyclable camping dinnerware and food packages. 17
Rent or buy a used tent. Instead of brand-new equipment, consider renting camping equipment instead. Outdoor retail (零售) brands like REI offer a wide variety of camping products to rent, including tents. 18 For those keen on purchasing something new, try brands like Patagonia that put sustainability first to reduce waste and support eco-friendly practices.
19 In addition to eco-friendly tents, it’s good to ensure that other camping essentials, from hiking shoes and sleeping bags to clothing and blankets, are also gentle on the environment. And remember, whatever is packed in should also be packed out.
Only camp in designated (指定的) camping areas. 20 However, developed campgrounds, which are specifically designated for camping, are usually available by reservation and don’t require campers to walk wearily into the wilderness to clear space to set up a tent. Designated camping spots usually have other advantages like bathrooms, showers, picnic tables, and more.
A.Pack with the planet in mind.
B.Sort out what you really need when camping.
C.They even carry other outdoor essentials for rent.
D.Learn how to sustainably upgrade the summer camping here.
E.Campers can also buy reusable paper towels in order to genuinely leave no track.
F.Eco-friendly campers can learn how to update their skills with these simple tips.

Walking more than 2,200 steps a day could reduce our risk of heart disease and early death, even if we spend the rest of the day 36 (sit) down. That’s according to a study 37 (publish) in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
Researchers looked at data from more than 72,000 people in the UK, with 38 average age of 61. Previous studies have linked time spent sitting with early death and heart disease, and walking is known 39 (decrease) these risks. So the research team wanted to find out 40 walking could offset(抵消) the health risks of spending a lot of time sitting.
The study participants 41 (wear) a device on their wrist, which was able to record the 42 (step) they took and the amount of time they spent sitting or lying down. Then they 43 (track) for around seven years afterward. During this time, 1,633 participants died, and almost 6,200 had heart problems like heart attacks and strokes.

Taimur and Daniyal were twins and had been my next door neighbors since I was five years old. Not only did we go to the same school, but our evenings and weekends were spent together too. It was like we were inseparable. I never felt that I needed any friends other than them. Unexpectedly, one evening their parents shared the news of them moving to another country-Australia.
I was shocked to realize that we would never be together, started recalling all the good times we had spent together, such as playing in the school breaks, the play dates, and all the fun things we did. Was it all going to end
When we had been through so many highs and lows together, shared secrets and supported each other through thick and thin, their moving away felt like my heart was being taken away. The news of their departure left me feeling empty and lost.
I was thinking about the biggest change that I was going to face in a few days, it was a difficult pill to swallow, but I knew I must move on. Though it wasn’t easy at first, I was trying my level best to beat the mental pain I was in.
After hearing the news, every day felt like a struggle. The school didn’t feel the same; the lunchbreaks had no purpose. Soon there would be no one to compare the test marks with, homework remarks would not excite me like before, and so on. I couldn’t help but feel lost and alone already.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

46.Respected All,
In response to the call of the World Historical and Cultural City Expo, I appeal to all of you to preserve our world heritage sites.
These sites are invaluable and irreplaceable treasures shared by all humanity, bearing testament to our history, culture, and nature. Thus, we bear a responsibility to take action and protect these precious legacies. We can safeguard them through several aspects. First, it is advisable for local officials to enact stricter laws and regulations to ensure the safety and integrity of world heritage sites. Moreover, public awareness and conservation spirits towards world heritage are supposed to be heightened through education and publicity.
Let us all make concerted efforts and contribute our part to protecting world heritage!
47.
Seeing my condition, my family advised me to make the most of the time that was left before they moved. They encouraged me to create more memories that could be cherished forever. Taking their advice to heart, I planned a series of farewell activities - a picnic at our favorite park, a movie marathon night featuring our favorite films, and a heartfelt gift exchange. These moments were bittersweet, filled with laughter and tears, reminding us of the strong bond we shared. It was a time of reflection, appreciating every moment spent together, and acknowledging that true friendship isn’t bound by distance.
Saying goodbye wasn’t easy, but it set my heart at ease to realize that we could still be the closest friends. We made promises to stay in touch through video calls, texts, and social media. As they left, we hugged tightly, whispering reassurances of meeting again. The departure was a pivotal moment for me, teaching me resilience and the value of friendships that withstand the test of time and distance. This experience, although painful, prepared me for future farewells and reinforced the idea that some bonds are indeed unbreakable, no matter where life takes us.
