教材分析
英语课程标准将课程内容划分为三大主题，人与自我，人与社会以及人与自然。本节课内容紧扣人与社会的子主题——科学与技术。本节课以社会为视角，以科技发展的历史为线索，从古代四大发明到“新四大发明”，从机器人、飞机、火箭到与人们日常生活息息相关的手机、机器人等。让学生感受到中国科技发展日新月异，开阔学生视野，增强爱国主义精神，坚定文化自信，树立理想，发展创新能力，形成良好的品格和人生观、价值观。科技进步，一个个高科技产品进入到我们的生活，改变着我们的生活，学生为此感到自豪。同时，随着科技的发展，也会给个人、社会、环境带来种种问题，比如个人信息的泄露，废弃电子产品对环境的危害以及垃圾分类的问题，青少年过度使用电子产品对身心健康造成的危害等。这些问题也应引导学生深思，并想办法解决，从而增强学生主人翁意识，提升自我保护和自我管理能力以及保护环境的意识！
学情分析
书面表达是写的一种途径，是英语交际的重要组成部分。英语新课程标准对于英语写作的要求，实际上是“有指导的写作”(guided writing)。它通过提供情景(文字、图画、表格)，让学生用学过的英语语言来描述事物或事件并表达一定的思想，以此达成和检验对所学英语语言知识的实践应用能力。客观地说，书面表达一直是我们英语教学的一个难点，也是学生应试的一个难点。学生在考场作文时，往往根据提供的情景中罗列的文字、图片、表格信息进行翻译，只有干巴巴的观点信息，而缺乏细节描写、举例说明、理由说明等支撑信息。因此，本节课的重点，让学生在表达观点之后，掌握如何添加支撑信息。
