1．use sth．to do sth．意为“使用某物做某事”。
We use a pen to write.
我们用钢笔写字。
2．no用作形容词，意为“没有”，修饰可数名词或不可数名词。no修饰单数名词，相当于not a／an，修饰不可数名词或复数名词，相当于not any。
She has no sister.
=She doesn't have a sister.

3．begin to do sth．意为“开始做某事”。英语中表示“开始做某事”时，还可以用begin doing sth.。
They began to read/reading when they sat down.

4．more than相当于over，意为“多于；超过”。

1．连词oi的常见用法有：
（1）用于否定句中代替and。比较下面的
句子：
They sang and danced in the park.
他们在公园里唱歌和跳舞了。
They didn't sing or dance in the park.
他们没有在公园里唱歌和跳舞。
（2）表示选择，意为“或者”。
Will it be sunny or cloudy
天气会是晴朗还是多云？
（3）表示一种转折的意味，意为“否则”，连接句子。

2．连词if引导条件状语从句，在复合句中作状语。
（1）位置
if引导的条件状语从句既可以放在主句之前，也可以放在主句之后。当从句置于主句之前时，常用逗号与主句隔开。
You will be late for school if you get up late.
= If you get up late,you will be late for school.
你如果起床起晚了，就会上学迟到。
（2）时态
①主将从现-主句是一般将来时，if引导的条件状语从句用一般现在时表将来。

6．hide动词，意为“隐藏；躲藏”，其过去式为hid，过去分词为hidden。

使用代词one时应注意以下几点：
（1）one可以代替前面刚提到过的同一类人或物中的一个，其复数形式为ones。
I have a new storybook and several old ones.
我有一本新的故事书和几本旧的故事书。
（2）如果one不带任何前置修饰语，而是单独使用，其意义通常是泛指的。
I have no computer. I want to buy one.
我没有电脑，我想买一台。
（3）不定冠词不可直接和one连用，但a／an后面有形容词时，可以和one连用。
Do you have any books I want to buy an interesting one.
你有书吗？我想买一本有趣的。
（4）one（s）可与定冠词the或其他限定词连用，表示特指。
This house isn't so new as that one.
这座房子没有那座新。
