The aim of students who came to school is to study. But to study requires a right way, or you waste either the time or the money. The following are the ways of studying.
The best time for reading is morning, because in the morning, the air is fresh and the mind is clear. For that reason, we can get good results.
In studying we must have patience. If we have not known a text well, we must read it again. We should not read the next one till we have learned the first one.
When we are studying, we must put our hearts into the book, or we can get nothing from the book while we are reading.
We must always ask “whys”. If it is not well understood, write it down and ask our teachers or our parents, or friends. In any possible way, we must know it completely and what we’ve learned can be used well and made better.
Though there are many ways for studying, yet the above mentioned will be quite enough if we can keep them in heart and do so.

In the mid-1950s, I was a bored boy student who believed that doing any more than necessary was wasted effort. One day, this approach threw me into embarrassment.
In Mrs. Totten’s eighth-grade math class at Central Avenue School in Anderson,Indiana, we were learning to add and subtract decimals (小数加减法).
Our teacher typically assigned (布置) daily homework, which would be checked in class the following day. On most days, our grades were based on our oral answer to homework questions.
Mrs. Totten usually walked up and down the rows of desks requesting answers from student after student in the order the questions had appeared on our homework sheets. She would start either at the front or the back of the classroom and work toward the other end.
Since I was seated near the middle of about 35 students, it was easy to figure out which questions I might have to answer. This particular time, I had completed my usual two or three problems according to my calculations (计算).
However, what I failed to expect was that several students were absent. As Mrs. Totten made her way from the beginning of the class, I tried my best to think of and decide which math problem I would get. I tried to work it out before she got to me. but my brain couldn’t function at that moment.
When Mrs. Totten reached my desk, she asked what answer I’d got for problem No.14. “I...I didn’t get anything,” I answered, and my face burned with shame.
I thought a lot after class that day. Till now, I still remember what happened in that math class. If I could choose one school day that taught me the most, it would be that one.
28.Which of the following statements is true according to the passage
A.The author thought making an effort was important.

A.requested her students to finish their usual questions
B.walked up and down when asking questions
C.chose two or three questions for the students
D.asked questions in a way that the author was familiar with
30.The author failed to get the questions he had expected because________.
A.several students didn’t come to school
B.the class didn’t begin as usual
C.Mrs. Totten didn’t start from the back of the class
D.he suffered from a serious disease
31.Which of the following can be the best title for the passage
A.A Creative Student B.An Unforgettable Teacher

Thirteen years ago, the Planet Earth wildlife documentary took us all on an amazing journey. We went from deep rainforests to the bottom of the ocean. Now a new one ,Our Planet, will let us see different animals and the influence of humans on the natural world. The documentary covers 50 countries and areas. It took more than four years to produce it.
With the latest 4K video technology, the show allows people a wonderful new look at nature. "People are given a chance to better get themselves into the lives of the animals” said Fothergill, one of the show s producers.
Besides showing Earth’s beauty, the documentary also talks about the planet's climate conditions. "Our Planet is here to say, The planet is dying, and we're killing it.’" Fothergill said. In one sad scene, hundreds of walruses(海象),half-blind when out of the water, fall down a rock and suffer a painful death on the beach below. It shows how the climate conditions have influenced their natural habitat and explains why they've been forced to find the safe place on the rocks.
But the documentary is not all about sadness. It also talks about success stories, such as the ones of tigers. These animals are saved and live happily thanks to international agreements on environmental protection.
Asking more people to take action in protecting our planet is the final goal of the new documentary. What we do in the next 20 years will decide the future of all life on Earth.

A. To explain what our goal is in the future.
B. To call for more people to protect our planet.
C. To tell us how the climate conditions influence animals.
D. To introduce international agreements on environmental protection.
34. What can we infer from the passage
A. It took a lot of time and efforts to make the documentary.

第二节(满分25分)
My best friend Beth and I had big dreams and hopes for our last year in high school, "Kristi, did you see the girl standing by us in the lunch line——she looks so lost, so out of place." We had heard of a family that had just moved to our town from Cambodia (柬埔寨) . We knew there was supposed to be a new girl at our school from that family, but we had yet to meet her until now.
Leourn was a small dark-haired beauty. She was starting her freshman year in this new country. She struggled with(挣扎于) the little English she knew and that made it very hard for her to get to know people in our small town.
We watched in the lunchroom from our "Senior Table". This table was kept specifically for our "senior sports jock(运动健將) friends," and no one else. Leourn would get her lunch plate with the rest of the students but she always kept her head down with her eyes focused on the floor. She would then head to the only table of girls she recognized. Unfortunately, it was the table for the most popular girls in the freshman class. Every single day Leourn would sit at the very edge(边缘) of her seat and eat as fast as she could. She kept her eyes fixed on her food and we never, ever saw her look up. We would watch quietly as the other girls were communicating with each other her table. They would make gestures to one another and laugh at Leourn while she ate.
As we paid attention over the next week, we never heard anyone so much as say "Hi" to Leourn. We decided to try our hardest to let one lonely girl know that there were people who knew she existed.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
We sat with Leourn at the freshman girls ' table. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
