Why does UNICEF work to provide children with clean water
Around the world, 2.2 billion people still lack access to(无法获得) safe drinking water. In many places, violent conflicts(暴力冲突), natural disasters, and the chain effects of climate change are causing the collapse(坍塌) of public services including water systems, fueling(助长) the spread of major diseases. As a result, millions of children miss out on education because they have to spend hours every day searching and collecting water.
