1.A man is talking to a woman at the lost and found office. He’s looking for his camera. 一个男子正与失物招领处的一名女子交谈。他正在寻找他的照相机。
(1)talk to sb. 意为“与某人交谈”, 也可以用talk with sb.;如果要表达“与某人交谈某事”,可以用talk with/to sb. about sth.。例如:
Mum is talking with/to Dad about the coming trip on Saturday. 妈妈正和爸爸讨论即将到来的星期六的旅行。
(2)look for意为“寻找”,指的是“正在找”,强调寻找的过程,东西还没找到;而find指的是“找到;发现”,强调的是结果。例如:
Lily is looking for her wallet, but she can’t find it anywhere. 莉莉正寻找她的钱包,但是哪儿也没找到。
2.People often lose things when they’re travelling or when they’re in a hurry. 人们在旅行中或是匆忙时经常丢东西。
in a hurry意为“匆匆忙忙”,常用于表示状态。例如:
He gets up late this morning, so he goes to work in a hurry. 他今天早上起得很晚,所以他匆匆忙忙赶去上班。
在短语in a hurry中,hurry作名词。hurry还可作动词,“hurry to+地点名词”意为“匆忙赶去某地”。例如:
He often gets up late in the morning, so he always hurries to the company. 他每天早上都起得很晚,所以总是匆匆忙忙赶去公司。
其他与hurry有关的短语还有hurry up,意为“赶紧”。例如:

3.They leave things on planes, on trains, on buses and in taxis. 他们把东西落在飞机、火车、公共汽车和出租车上。

I lose my umbrella. I need to buy a new one. 我丢失了我的雨伞,我需要买一把新的。
4.That’s why there are lost and found offices at airports and stations. 这就是机场和车站有失物招领处的原因。
“That’s why…”表示“这/那就是……的原因”,常用于句首,后面接表示结果的句子。例如:
Vegetables are healthy for us. That’s why I like them so much. 蔬菜有益于我们的健康。这就是我喜欢它们的原因。

(1)hundred意为“百”,前面加具体数词时表示一个确切的数字;而hundreds of 意为“几百;成百上千”,表示一个大概的数字。当hundred前面有一个具体的数词时,hundred后不加s,也不加of。例如:

(2)当hundred与of 连用时,它本身和它后面的名词都用复数形式。例如:

2.形容词性物主代词与名词性物主代词的用法与区别
(1)形容词性物主代词起形容词的作用,用在名词前。例如:
This is her tape. 这是她的录像带。
(2)名词性物主代词起名词的作用。例如:
He likes my eraser. He doesn’t like hers. 他喜欢我的橡皮擦,不喜欢她的。
(3)在使用名词性物主代词时,必须有特定的语言环境,也就是要省略的名词是大家已经知道的。例如:
Here is a purple mobile phone. It’s his. 这里有个紫色的手机,是他的(手机)。(这里的his=his purple mobile phone)
(4)为了避免重复使用名词,有时可用“名词性物主代词”来代替“形容词性物主代词+名词”的形式。例如:
My bag is yellow, her bag is red, his bag is blue and your bag is pink. 我的包是黄色的,她的包是红色的,他的包是蓝色的,你的包是粉色的。
上面的例句可写成:My(形容词性) bag is yellow, hers(名词性=her bag) is red, his(名词性=his bag) is blue and yours(名词性=your bag) is pink.
(5)名词性物主代词可以用在介词of的后面,相当于“of+形容词性

1.Whose bag is this
whose是疑问代词,引导特殊疑问句,意为“谁的”。其用法分为两种。
(1)whose可作定语,后接名词的单数或复数形式,用于询问物品的主人是谁。例如:
Whose watch is this 这是谁的手表?
Whose basketballs are these 这些是谁的篮球?
【注意】“whose+名词”结构在句中作主语时,动词be的单复数形式随着该结构的名词单复数的变化而变化。
(2)whose可作表语,后面不接名词。例如:
Whose is this wallet? 这个钱包是谁的?
Whose are these erasers 这些橡皮擦是谁的?
2.Welcome back to school, everyone! 欢迎大家回到学校!
“Welcome to…”意为“欢迎……到……”,to后常接地点名词,是常用的口语,也可以简单地说“Welcome!”。例如:

以上两个句子都是倒装句,其目的是强调地点,倒装句通常用here或there引导。如果主语是名词,句子常用完全倒装,即“Here/There +谓语动词+主语(名词)”;如果主语是人称代词,句子常用部分倒装,即“Here/There +主语(人称代词)+谓语动词”。例如:
Here comes our teacher! 我们的老师来了!
Here it comes!它来了!
6.Let me see… Oh, they’re mine! 让我看看。噢,它们是我的!
let sb. do sth. 意为“让某人做某事”,let后面接动词原形,作宾语补足语。其否定结构为let sb. not do sth.,意为“让某人不做某事”,let的后面也接动词原形。Let us可简写成Let’s。例如:
