1.What a delicious smell! 好香的味道啊!
(1)本句是一个感叹句。感叹句是用来表示喜、怒、哀、乐等强烈感情的句子,一般由what和how引导,what常用来修饰名词,how常用来修饰形容词、副词或动词。感叹句的句型结构一般如下:
①What +a/an(+形容词)+可数名词单数+主语+谓语!
例如:What a smart girl she is! 多聪明的一个女孩儿啊!
②What +形容词+可数名词复数/不可数名词+主语+谓语!
例如:What beautiful flowers they are! 多漂亮的花啊!
③How+形容词或副词(+a/an+可数名词单数)+主语+谓语(系动词)!
例如:How delicious the smell is! 好香的味道啊!
【拓展】由what引导的感叹句与由how引导的感叹句有时可以转换。例如:
What a tall boy he is!=How tall a boy he is! 多高的一个男孩啊!
What delicious cakes they are!=How delicious the cakes are! 多美味的蛋糕啊!
(2)smell此处用作可数名词,意为“气味”。smell也可以用作系动词,意为“闻起来”,常接形容词作表语。像smell这样作系动词的还有:look(看起来);feel(摸起来,感觉);sound(听起来);taste(尝起来)等。含有感官系动词的句子,是本模块的重点语法,详细解释见Unit 3“起航加油”。例如:
The dress looks very beautiful. 那条连衣裙看上去很漂亮。
2.—Would you like to try some 你要尝尝吗?
—Yes, please.好的。
would like意为“想;想要”,与want意思相同,但语气更委婉。肯定句中,当主语是I,和would 连用时,可以缩写为I’d,并且 like 也可换成 love。其用法如下:
(1)would like sth. 意为“想要某物”。例如:
I’d like a pink coat. 我想要一件粉色的大衣。
(2)would like to do sth. 意为“想要做某事”。例如:
—Would you like to come with me 你想和我一起去吗?
—Yes, I’d like/love to. 是的。我想。(肯定回答)
—I’d like/love to, but I have to do my homework. 我想的,但我不得不做作业。(否定回答)
(3)“Would you like some... ”意为“你想要一些……吗?”。
该句型常用于征求对方的意见。肯定回答常用“Yes, please.”,否定回答常用“No, thanks.”。 需要特别注意的是,在该句型中一般用some,而不用any,以表示说话人希望得到对方的肯定回答。例如:
—Would you like some apples 你想要一些苹果吗?
—Yes, please. 是的,我想要。
—No, thanks. 不要,谢谢。
3.I’m afraid I don’t like cheese. 恐怕我不喜欢奶酪。
“I’m afraid... ”常用于有礼貌地拒绝他人,意为“恐怕我……”。例如:
I’m afraid I can’t go to your party tomorrow. 恐怕我明天不能去参加你的宴会了。
【拓展】afraid常用于以下结构:
(1)be afraid of sth./ doing sth.意为“害怕(做)某事”。例如:
I’m afraid of dentists. 我害怕牙医。
I’m afraid of going out at night. 我不敢晚上出去。
(2)be afraid to do sth. 意为“不敢做某事”。例如:
He was afraid to climb the tree. 他不敢爬树。
(3)在给某人传达不愉快的信息时,通常用“I’m afraid+从句”结构。例如:

Unit 3(第五课时)
1.表示感觉和知觉的系动词
(1)感官动词look(看起来), sound(听起来), taste(尝起来), smell(闻起来), feel(摸起来,感觉)等,在句中可作系动词,后面常接形容词作表语,构成系表结构。例如:
①Her sister looks very pretty today. 她姐姐今天看上去非常漂亮。
②His voice sounds a little strange on the phone. 他的声音在电话
里听着有点奇怪。
③The cake tastes delicious. 这蛋糕尝起来很美味。
④Those flowers smell sweet. 那些花闻起来很香。
⑤The sofa feels soft and comfortable. 这沙发摸起来又柔软又舒适。
(2)感官动词后还可接介词like, like后常接名词。例如:

As a student, I was most afraid to answer questions in class, and I found that the students around were just like me. At the beginning of each class, when the teacher asked a question, I always lowered my head because I was afraid that the teacher saw me.
