Unit 2 There were few doctors, so he had to work very hard
【教材分析】本模块以“英雄”为话题，学生可以了解到英雄人物不屈不挠、意志坚定、勤奋刻苦的高贵品质。第二单元主要介绍了国际共产主义战士—— 诺曼.白求恩的伟大事迹，属于人物传记类的文章。这类文章通常是按照时间顺序来讲述人物的生平，故事性强，内容较易理解，学生也必较感兴趣。通过学习白求恩大夫的生平事迹，让学生感受到白求恩舍己为人、无私奉献、忘我工作的精神。在教学过程中，只要把握住时间这条脉络去引导学生阅读文章，通过文章的阅读和学习，让学生学会怎样去描述自己心目中的英雄，为写作打基础。
【学情分析】九年级学生思维活跃，有一定的语言知识积累，竞争意识，合作意识比较强，自主学习的能力较以往有较大提高。但学生阅读过程中缺少阅读策略，信息收集整理以及写作输出的能力有待提高。阅读过程中讲授阅读策略，帮助学生寻找归纳信息，并指导写作模式的构建。
【学习目标】
1.知识目标：
（1）能正确使用下列单词和词组：
sick, soldier, treat, die for…,take care of, tool, at that time, useful, die of…,Canada, invention
（2）能掌握有 so, so that和because引导的状语从句。
2.能力目标：能够读懂人物事迹的文章，掌握文章大意及细节，能运用文章的结构和写法来介绍心目中的英雄人物。
3.情感目标：通过学习白求恩大夫的生平事迹，让学生感受到白求恩舍己为人、无私奉献、忘我工作的精神，并在实际生活中努力践行这种精神。

一、Warming-up 操作方式：让学生说出自己心目中的英雄，做简单介绍。

设计意图：从自身做起，从小事做起，每个人都是英雄，达到情感的升华。

七、教学反思
本节课是一节阅读课，通过对学生阅读技巧的指导，理解有关英雄人物白求恩的有关事迹。
亮点：１ 在教学中首先通过谈论自己心目中的英雄导入本课，一些有关白求恩的图片吸引了学生的注意力，激发了学生的兴趣。２ 通过小组合作探究学习解决阅读问题。３ 教师驾驭教材的能力强，分析整合教材，并且善于运用激励性语言鼓励学生。
不足：教师上课表情过于严厉。
总之，本节课从学生的反应情况上看，比较成功，学生对语言知识的掌握比较透彻，语言操练达到预设目标并有所提升，学生的爱国情操得到体现和升华。
