1.复习宾语从句
(1)引导词
① that连接陈述句,只起连接作用,在从句中不作任何成分,也无词汇意义,在口语中或非正式文体中常被省略。例如:
She told me that she was a teacher. 她告诉我她是一名老师。
② if或whether连接一般疑问句,在从句中不作任何成分,作“是否”解,口语中多用if。例如:
I asked him if/whether he was tired. 我问他是否觉得累。
③ who,whom,whose,what,which 起连接作用,在句子中作一定成分,各有其意义。例如:
I want to know what your name is. 我想知道你的名字是什么。
④ when,where,why,how起连接作用,分别在从句中作时间、地点、原因、方式状语,各有其意义。
(2)时态:宾语从句的时态一般与主句保持一致。若从句为客观真理时,不受主句时态限制。例如:
The teacher told us that the earth moves around the sun. 老师告诉我们地球围绕太阳转。
(3)语序:宾语从句使用陈述句语序。尤其要注意连接词在宾语从句中作主语时的语序。例如:
He doesn’t know what is wrong (the matter)with his bike. 他不知道他的自行车出什么问题了。
2.复习定语从句
定语从句引导词的选择:定语从句修饰人且在从句中作主语时,用who/that引导(who和that一般可互换,有时可省去),如人后有介词,则必须用whom。修饰物用which/that引导。表示“……的”这个概念,可用whose。when指时间,where指地点,why指原因。
【注意】当先行词既有人又有物,或先行词是不定代词,或先行词被形容词最高级、序数词修饰时,以及在there be句型中,关系代词要用that。
当先行词和关系代词在从句中作主语时,从句中的谓语动词要和先行词保持人称和数的一致。例如:
