副词开头
我们先来看两个例句：
Carefully, he stepped over all the broken glass.
他小心翼翼地踩过了所有的碎玻璃。
Joyfully, he skipped up the street.
他很高兴地跳过了街道。
这里的carefully和joyfully把后面的两个动作“step踩”和“skip跳”描写的更加细致和生动。
形容词短语开头
我们先看两个例句：Curious to know what was inside, he tiptoed into the dark cave.他好奇地想知道里面是什么，踮着脚尖走进了黑暗的洞穴。
这里的“Curious to know what was inside, 很想知道里面有什么东西”就是形容词短语，表明他进洞穴的原因。相当于：He was curious to know what was inside, and he tiptoed into the dark cave.
Unable to say a word, he was rooted to the spot.
一句话也说不出来，他就愣在了原地。
这里的“unable to say a word”也是一个形容词短语，表现了“愣在原地”这个动作伴随动作：说不出一个字。
非谓语开头
先看这个例句：Looking around him cautiously, he slipped into the room and softly closed the door.
他小心翼翼地环顾四周，溜进了房间，轻轻地关上门。
这里的“Looking around him cautiously”意思是：小心翼翼地环顾四周，是一个非谓语动词短语。
But no more helicopters came and it was getting dark again.但是没有直升机来了，天又黑了。刚才我们用副词开头写了一个句子。现在我们用非谓语开头，怎么写呢？我们可以这么写：
Feeling disappointed, Jane had to stay alone for another night. 简感到失望，不得不再呆一夜。本句中的开头，用了doing的形式，即feeling disappointed感到失望。
背景描写
We drove through several states and saw lots of great sights along the way（我们开车穿过了几个州，沿途看到了很多好风景。）
怎么接下来写开头呢？我们可以这么写：
I looked out of the car window, winding rivers, lofty mountains, sunny beaches and deep valleys, holding me entirely in their fascination.
我望着车窗外，蜿蜒的河流，高耸的山脉，阳光明媚的海滩和深邃的山谷，完全吸引了我的注意力。这里用“视觉+环境描写+拟人”的写作手法，也成功地抓住了读者的注意力！
行为描写
Furry started wagging his tail and running around in circles when he saw his master taking a leash out from the drawer. Furry was all ready for his evening walk.
当他看到他的主人从抽屉里拿出一条皮带时，Furry开始摇，绕着圈跑。Furry准备好了晚上的散步。一连串有关Furry的动作链，像放电影一样，印刻在读者的大脑中。为后面情节发展做好了铺垫。
The next day we remembered the brand-new tent we had brought with us.（第二天，我们想起了我们带来的那个全新的帐篷。）
怎么接下来写开头呢？我们可以这么写：
Dad exchanged a glance with me. Why not camp to satisfy Mom
爸爸和我相互看了一眼。 为什么不露营来满足妈妈？
这里就用到了“动作描写+问句”衔接。很好勾起了读者的兴趣。
心理描写
1. The last word went like a bullet to my heart.
最后一句话像一颗子弹击中了我的心。
2. A ripple of sadness welled up inside him.
他内心涌起一阵阵悲伤。
3. He felt the warmth surging through his body.
他感到身体里涌动着一股暖流。
4.The loneliness and grief comes in waves.
孤独和悲伤不断涌上心头。
5.So ashamed was she that she could feel the blood rush to her face.
她是如此羞愧以至于脸如充血般发烫。
动作描写
1. She shot her a meaningful look.
--《秘密花园》（Secret Garden）她向他意味深长地看了一眼。
2. Beli’s diamond eyes locked on to her.
--《奥斯卡·瓦奥短暂而奇妙的一生》贝利钻石般的眼睛紧盯着她。
3. Mary felt her heart race.
玛丽感到她的心跳加速。
4. A great silence surrounded them.

神态描写
1. 关于“笑”的表达：
The smile froze on her lips.
她脸上的笑容僵住了。
In spite of his disappointment, he managed a weak smile.
他还是勉强露出一丝淡淡的微笑。
Alee became happy now and a gentle smile spread over her face.
整张脸洋溢着温和的微笑。
His face split into a wide smile.

2. 有关“看”的表达：
He didn’t shout, and he just glared at me silently.

He gazed at the ..., unbelievable.

环境描写
