教材分析
听说板块围绕“探寻伟大的含义” (Explore the meaning of greatness)展开,学生将了解更多人物,并将其与对话中提到的信息匹配,然后就其伟大的原因展开讨论,发表自己的看法,树立正确的人生观和价值观。同时,关注表达因果关系的显性和隐性语言。在听力文本及活动设计中,伟大人物的范围逐步从卓有成就的人物扩展到普通人。鼓励学生由远及近,观察身边的普通人。这些人虽然不是名人,但同样付出了努力,体现了自己的人生价值,进一步启发学生思考人生的意义。
教学目标
1. 能够听懂并理解探讨人物成就和人物品质的对话。
2. 能够在听的过程中,借助表达因果关系的语言,理解语篇信息。
3. 能够启发学生了解取得重大成就的人物及其经历,探索这些人物的共同品质,深入理解“伟大”的含义。
4. 能够在口头交流中,有条理地叙述人物经历和评价人物成就。

引导学生捕捉对话中表达因果关系的关键词。

引导运用教材中提供的语言功能项目有效地维持交流,启发学生理解“伟大”和“成功”的含义并发表自己的见解。
教学过程
Step 1 Pre-listening
1. Look at the pictures and think of the questions.
设计意图:激发学生背景知识,将著名人物与其成就相匹配,然后听对话验证匹配是否正确。
Step 2 While-listening
1. Work on Activity 1. Match the people with their achievements. Then listen to a conversation between Dr Wang, his daughter Wang Lin, and his daughter’s friend Anna, and check your answers.
2. Work on Activity 2. Listen to the conversation again. Who does each speaker admire Tick in the table below.
3. Read “Listen for reasons”.
4. Listen again and complete the table below.
5. Work on Activity 3. Listen again and answer the questions.
设计意图:引导学生关注细节,分辨三位说话者各自钦佩的人物;训练学生通过听力活动辨识因果逻辑关系。
Step 3 Post-listening
1. Work on Activity 4. Work in groups. Brainstorm the names of some great people and write them in the table below.
2. Work on Activity 5. Think about what you would do if you were ever faced with the same situation as the girl. Then share your thoughts with your group, and explain the reasons for your choice.
3. Work on Activity 6. Use your discussion to draw conclusions about the meaning of greatness. The following expressions may help you. Then report back to the class.
设计意图:首先,引导学生完成头脑风暴活动,列举不同领域取得重大成就的人物。然后,指导学生参照听力对话,进行小组讨论自己钦佩的人物和理由。最后,引导学生进一步思考、归纳、总结并表达自己对“伟大”和“成功”的理解并陈述理由。
