1.In 1998, Liu Xiang’s ability in hurdling was noticed by Sun Haiping, who later became his coach. 1998年,孙海平,也就是他后来的教练,发现了刘翔的跨栏天赋。
(1)ability作名词,意为“能力;本领”,后面常接to do sth 或in sth。它的形容词形式是able。例如:

(2)who later became his coach是定语从句,修饰Sun Haiping。

(1)suffer意为“受痛苦,遭受,忍受”,可作及物动词和不及物动词。suffer from意为“患……病;受……折磨”。例如:

(1)against意为“反对;与……对抗”,其后跟名词、代词或动名词。例如:

(2)against 常与fight, play等词连用,表示“反对、对抗;与…… 比赛”。例如:

2.What does HAS stand for HAS代表什么
stand for意为“象征,代表”。该短语不用于被动语态,也不用于进行时态。例如:
