Arnette’s opinions Why
Each person has an
important and unique reason
for climbing a mountain. It
forces people to look deep inside themselves. To succeed, people must have the physical as
well as mental toughness.
What people get from this adventure is just sheer joy. People eat and make money to be able to enjoy life, not the other way round.
Think and Share
Yes, I agree with Mallory's opinion. He said climbing Mount Everest brings him joy, and he doesn't just live to eat or make money. For him, the real purpose of life is to enjoy what you do. This shows that going on such a big adventure like climbing Everest is not just about the risk, but about finding happiness and meaning in doing something challenging. It teaches us that doing things that excite us can make us feel alive and happy. This is a big lesson for everyone, showing us how important it is to find and do things that we truly love.
Yes, I agree with Arnette's opinion. Climbing Mount Everest is an experience like no others and it truly brings into focus what’s important to you. Despite the thousands of reasons to turn around, choosing to go on an adventure and take risks teaches you about your own limits and strengths. This kind of challenge forces you to look deep inside yourself to find the courage and determination you might not know you had. It's not just about trying to succeed in reaching the top of Qomolangma, but also about understanding how much you can benefit from the result. For those who are naturally more inclined to take risks, such adventures are definitely worth the risks.
2.In your opinion, what are true adventure spirits

If you were given the chance, would you like to climb Qomolangma
Why or why not
Personally, I am willing to meet the challenge. For one thing, anyone standing at the highest point of the world is seen as a winner in physical and mental aspects.
For another, I think I will get a lot from this adventure, including the courage to overcome any difficulty, the sense of great achievement as well as the joy of life. So it's worth the risks.

How has it changed your perspective on life and challenges
From climbing Mount Qomolangma, I've learned that it is an experience like no others. Climbing this peak teaches us about what drives us and highlights our natural instinct for exploration. Alan Arnette's insights remind us to look deep inside yourself to find the one important and unique reason to keep going despite the thousands of reasons to turn around. This process tests our physical and mental toughness and helps us understand the importance of focusing on what's truly significant to us .
It made me look deep inside myself and bring into focus what's important to me. Even though there were thousands of reasons to turn around, deciding to go on an adventure taught me to take risks and balance the benefits and risks. Homework:
Write a short passage to express whether you would like to climb Qomolangma or not, and give reasons within 120 words using the following phrases.
I would love to climb Qomolangma because it is an experience like no others.
Climbing the highest mountain in the world would allow me to go on an adventure that few people have the chance to attempt. Although there are thousands of reasons to turn around, such as the physical and mental challenges, the idea of being able to succeed in reaching the top of Qomolangma motivates me. This journey would bring into focus what's important to me, pushing me to look deep inside myself. It's about more than just taking risks; it's about discovering if I am the kind of person who has a "Type T" personality, who takes risks and seeks to benefit from the result.
Ultimately, for me, the rewards of overcoming my fears and reaching the summit would be worth the risks.
Embrace the risks and
climb up the highest peak bravely!
