1. As students of grade three in junior middle school , their cognition is close to adults. They are quick in thought and steady in physical and mental development. They have their own ideas about things and are willing to express their opinions towards topics that they are interested in.
2. Our school is a village school, the students’ English language basis here is kind of poor, especially the abilities of reading and speaking. Some students are not very active in class because they are afraid of making mistakes.
3. Although students have already learned all the words and expressions, some students can’t use them flexible in different situations. Maybe it is a little difficult for some to finish all the tasks. But I think group members will help each other and they can do better in groups, because cooperation is very important for students.
4. As the high school enterance examination is coming, some students are kind of nervous, and they are lack of self-confidence. So during the lesson, sentiment education is also very important besides knowladge.
课堂效果分析
课堂教学效果是教师进行课堂教学的落脚点，一切教学手段的运用和教学方法的选择最终的目的是课堂教学效果的最大化。这里所说的效果是一个综合性的教学效果，内容即包括基础知识的掌握情况，又包括基本技能的训练效果，同时也包括学生学习能力的培养和情感意识的教育等。
学生是课堂的主体，通过学生表情的变化、思维的速度、回答问题和任务完成的准确性、课堂活动的参与度等信息反馈，可获知教学信息的传输是否畅通，亦可看出知识、技能的掌握情况。通过对课堂中学生的反应、学生课堂任务的完成情况以及课后评测反馈上看，本节课中大部分学生都能够积极参与到课堂学习任务当中，并在教师的引领和指导下依次完成各环节的任务，并在学习活动中?准确表达自己的意愿和观点。由于小组合作学习的运用，小组成员的互帮互助能够较好地照顾到学习基础较差的学生，使学生都能够按照教师预设的步子走，达到了预期的教学效果。
同时也必须要看到，由于九年级学生的活跃性不强，学生课堂参与的主动性不是很高，很多学生或羞于表达、或害怕犯错不敢举手，致使课堂气氛不是非常活跃，有待提高。
总之，本节课在教师的引导帮助下，全体学生的潜力得到很大限度的挖掘，智力好的学生吃得饱，中等水平的学生吸收得好，差的学生消化得了，学生人人学有所得。课堂教学中充分体现师生平等、教学民主的思想，师生信息交流畅通，情感交流融洽，合作和谐，配合默契，教与学的气氛达到最优化，课堂教学效果达到最大化。教师教得轻松，学生学得愉快。

Analysis of teaching material
The topic of this unit focuses on Entertainment. It chooses two of the students’ favourite entertainment, TV shows and movies, as the main themes to let the students talk about preferences and make plans. The target language of this unit is “ What do you think of ..?” and infinitives used as objects. Students should be able to talk about different kinds of TV shows and movies, use adjectives to give a reason and use infinitives to make plans.
This class is for the students of Grade Nine to have a revision, students will review the names of different TV shows and movies、some description words and useful expressions. All activities are carried out around how to use these information in real situations. According to the New Standard curriculum, in this lesson, I will put all the curriculum words and useful expressions into an article that is related with the popular culture and the high school entrance examination, students will be the real masters while the teacher acts as a director and focus on students’ integrated capability training and enable them to use proper learning strategies.

1. 课堂定位准确，设计新颖独特。本节课是一节单元复习课，主要复习内容为八年级上册第五单元，面向的是九年级学生。应该说整个教学过程，始终围绕能力而展开，感觉流畅且主题鲜明。教师对教材分析和挖掘非常到位，课堂组织、授课材料和任务设置既依托教材，更依托新课程标准，对学情和教学目标把握准确，课堂设计新颖独特，教学思路另辟奇径，既复习了课本知识，有锻炼了学生的综合语言运用能力，是一节比较成功的好课。
2. 教学目标明确，任务设计合理高效。课堂紧紧围绕第五单元的话题Entertainment和功能项目Talk about preferences 、Make plans来组织课堂，以促进学生学习、运用所学语言为出发点，以提升学生综合语言运用能力和应对能力为落脚点。整个教学环节循序渐进，逐步深入，在教师的引导下学生通过完成不同的任务来达到复习知识、提升能力、升华情感和提升信心的目的。
3. 情境创设真实自然，贴合学生生活和兴趣，极大地调动了学生参与课堂活动的积极性。 这节课在创设情景方面是一大亮点。通过学生比较感兴趣的电视节目为切入点，非常自然的引入到对电视节目喜爱的谈论当中，然后用目前非常流行的、学生比较喜欢的Where are we going, Dad?这一电视节目为过渡点，通过记者采访五个爸爸之一----陆毅的几个不同的问题将词句、语法系统组织起来。学生在教师的引导下逐步揭开谜团，并在阅读的同时将中考题型综合填空、阅读表达、单选选择、阅读翻译、信息提取、知识拓展、写作练习等巧妙地融入任务当中，使学生真正“在做中学、在学中做”，完成任务的过程也就是提高学生能力的过程。同时，一切任务都是在一定的情景中进行，让人感觉到一切都是真实的，学生感觉不到这是上复习课，而是在与教师和其他同学一起聊天和探索。因此，学生能够在预设的情境中进行活动，学生的学习积极性和课堂投入度较高，能主动参与课堂并进行有效的复习和提升。

5. 源于教材又高于教材，师生教学相长。在阅读材料编写中没有仅仅使用课本上所给出的原始阅读材料，也不是完全抛弃它们，而是将教材上对话和阅读材料中的一些重点语句、表达方式引用或改写进新材料当中去，既高于课本又不脱离课本，避免了学生重读课本的不新鲜感，也减少了完全是新内容的陌生感，融合非常到位。在复习课前，让学生提前做好预习所要复习单元的主要内容，然后在课堂中去运用已有的知识去解决相关问题，完成相应任务，学生的知识体系和教师的知识体系相互补充、相互添加。
6. 教学策略灵活多样，学生自主活动略显不足。课堂围绕本单元的主题知识，学生听、说、读、写兼顾，任务设计巧妙多样，任务目的性强，基本达到了预期的复习效果。但是由于课容量较大，教师给学生的指令较多，学生的自主活动有些欠缺，教师对学生放手不够，应该多给学生一些自主和合作学习的机会，让学生思维动起来的同时嘴和手都要动起来，让学生自主去加工材料、吸取有用信息并完成任务，进行有效的拓展，可能效果会更好一些。

本课的设计构思是将本单元的课标词汇、重点短语和重点句子融入到一篇阅读文章中，学生在教师的引导下通过完成不同的阅读任务来达到复习和应用的目的。这正好是《义务教育英语课程标准（2011年版）》注重语言的综合应用能力的培养，而不是单纯的词汇、短语和句子的背诵和记忆。本节课以《爸爸去哪儿》这一学生喜爱的节目为主要的情景创设线索，将看起来非常分散的知识点集合起来，既有时代气息，又充满了趣味性，使学生快乐阅读、快乐复习。主要通过三大部分来开展复习活动：
1. 本节课以Let’s have a discussion of TV shows.开头，直接引出主题，简单明确。接着通过教师和学生对于TV shows的一个问答model，对本单元的重点功能性语言进行复习，使学生对本单元的主要内容有一个大体的框架。然后借由询问学生对Where are we going, Dad?这一电视节目看法引出本单元中的重点形容词，并通过Challenge your memory 这样一个小游戏让学生迅速回忆起这些单词，构建词汇的mind map。本环节由于所涉及的句子都不是很难，学生能较好地组织对话和记忆词汇，效果很好。

通过对学生随堂任务以及课后评测反馈练习完成情况的统计，发现大部分学生能够掌握本单元所需要复习的重点内容，较好地完成了预定目标。但由于本部分有个别一些任务设计稍难，学生思考和讨论交流的时间不是特别充足，致使有个别学生在任务中出现错误。把任务精简整合一下，给学生充足的时间进行小组活动，效果会更好。
八年级上册Unit5 Do you want to watch a game show?

本单元的主题是谈论对不同电视节目和不同电影类型的喜好及原因。围绕这一主题进行一系列的交际活动。《义务教育英语课程标准（2011年版）》功能意念项目表第二项态度中包括了本单元中的许多要点，如“同意和不同意，喜欢和不喜欢，意愿和打算，希望和愿望。”在话题项目表中，第六项个人兴趣中包含一项娱乐活动，第九项中是计划和安排。本单元在娱乐活动话题中要求学生能够理解并运用恰当的语言形式谈论对不同类型的电视节目或电影的看法与偏好，能够初步制定计划并能表达自己的意愿。
《义务教育英语课程标准（2011年版）》要求英语教学要注重语言实践，培养学生语言运用能力。以“能用英语做事情”的描述方式设定各级目标要求，旨在培养学生的综合语言运用能力。因此，在教学中, 根据九年级学生的发展特点、复习要求和中考命题特点，针对此话题，教师设计了一系列的任务链活动，采取循序渐进的语言实践活动，以及各种强调过程与结果并重的教学途径和方法，如任务型教学途径等，旨在帮助学生掌握语篇信息的同时，发展相应的阅读技能，提升阅读水平，所以，学生学习的难点在于对阅读语篇出现的多重阅读策略的领会和掌握上。教师必须给学生足够的时间阅读并完成阅读后的各项任务，让学生在语篇中学习。
《义务教育英语课程标准（2011年版）》要求初中英语教学要根据语言学习的规律和义务教育阶段学生的发展需求，从语言技能、语言知识、情感态度、学习策略和文化意识等五个方面设计课程总目标和分级目标，听、说、读、写并重，培养学生综合语言运用能力。因此，在本单元的复习中，教师没有按照教材内容从单词、短语、句子、语法、篇章方面逐个进行复习，而是将所有内容进行整合，选取了学生感兴趣的话题—“Where are we going, Dad”这一电视节目为主线，将语言技能、语言知识、情感态度、学习策略和文化意识五个方面巧妙地融合的阅读材料和任务中，激发学生开口交流，动手去做，多给学生一些机会，让他们自己去体会，培养学生自主学习能力。
同时在课程设计中，教师也没有将本单元的内容从教材中孤立出来，而是注意前后知识的衔接。对描述性形容词的复习承接了第四单元的学习内容，同时又通过任务设计巧妙地将第六单元的主要词汇和句式融入进任务当中，注重了教材的整体性和连贯性。这恰好贴合了《义务教育英语课程标准（2011年版）》的要求。
