I didn't know why they were croaking at me 5 a short time later I found something amazing: They had two small baby birds.

Can it be recycled Types of Plastic
This is the plastic that you often see on supermarket shelves! It’s used to make plastic water bottles and biscuit boxes.
HDPE is a stronger type of plastic. It is what milk bottles are made of.
LDPE is a very soft plastic which is not easily broken. It is what shopping bags are made of.
This plastic is often seen in our daily life. You’ll probably have seen it as those cheap white cups you get hot drinks in, or as take-away food packaging.
( )1. Which is a stronger type of plastic
A. PET. B. HDPE. C.LDPE. D.PS.
( )2. Which of the following uses PET plastic
A. Milk bottles. B. Hot drink white cups.

Scientists are using an underwater drone(无人机)to get information on carbon dioxide (CO2) levels in the sea. It is believed to be the first time that such a device (装置) has been used to test CO2 levels.
The device, which the team also calls a glider, is designed to go down to 1 000 metres in deep sea areas and can work for weeks at a time.
The purpose of the study is to provide scientists with data (数据) about how climate change is making a difference to the sea's chemistry (化学). The self-swimming drone was placed in the Gulf of Alaska this spring. Reporters from the Associated Press recently joined scientists on a boat in Alaska's Resurrection Bay to see the drone in action.
The team says the study could be a major step forward in measuring (测量) the environmental health of seas. The scientists are most interested in levels of sea acidification(海水酸化). This happens when CO2 emissions (排放) in the air make their way into the sea. Sea acidification can harm or kill some kinds of sea life.
Scientists have connected CO2emissions with global(全球)warming caused by human activities.
In a way, seas have given humans a helping hand by taking in (吸收) some of the CO2. If there
were no seas' uptake, there would be much more CO2 in the air. This would trap more of the sun's heat and further warm the Earth.
"But the problem now is that the sea is changing its chemistry because of too much uptake," said team member Claudine Hauri.
One of the best ways to measure sea acidification is to collect CO2 measurements. Until now, these collections were mostly done from ships or with devices floating (漂浮) at the sea surface(表面)or on the sea floor.
McDonnell said he hoped that a large number of similar robotic gliders would work in seas across the world one day. "Such efforts (努力) will be important in helping scientists understand much more about what's going on in the sea than we have before," he said.
( )4. What may this passage be
A. An advertisement. B. Part of a news report.
C. Part of a science fiction (小说). D. A text from a Chemistry textbook.
( ) 5. According to the passage, gliders are used to _____.
A. support floating devices B. measure sea acidification
C. stop CO2 from entering the sea D. measure CO2 levels in the air
( )6. What does the underlined word "uptake" in Paragraph 6 most probably mean
A. The act of covering an area. B. The act of slowing something down.
C. The act of taking something in. D. The act of killing or harming something.
( )7. What is troubling the scientists
A. The underwater drone can't swim by itself.
B. The drone can only last one week at a time.
C. Seas are stopping taking in CO2 from the air.
D. Too much CO2 is making its way into seas.
( )8. What's McDonnell's attitude(态度) towards robotic gliders working in oceans
A. Supportive. B. Dislike. C. Unclear. D. Uninterested.
