（1）如果回答生日在某一天，日期前要用介词on：如果回答生日在某一个月，月份前要用介词in。例如：
—When is your father’s birthday 你父亲的生日在什么时候？
—His birthday is on February 3rd. 他的生日在2月3日。
—When is your birthday 你的生日在什么时候？
—It’s in October. 在10月。
（2）日期表达法。
表达具体日期通常用“月份+日期”，月份为专有名词，首字母必须大写。日期可以是序数词，也可以是基数词。如 first→1st，second→2nd。读法：“日”一定要读作序数词，而且前面要加定冠词 the。例如：
6月8日：June 8th或 June 8，读作：June the eighth.
8月3日：August 3rd或 August 3，读作：August the third.
（3）when引导的疑问句。
when是疑问副词，意为“什么时候; 何时”，“When + be/助动词+主语（+其他）？”用来询问时间，既可询问某个时段或时刻，也可询问具体的日期。例如：
—When is the football match 足球比赛在什么时候？
—It’s on September 15th. 在9月15日。
—When do you watch TV 你什么时候看电视？
—At eight o’clock. 在八点钟。

上面句中的father’s和 Alice’s是名词的所有格形式。名词所有格表示有生命的名词与后面名词的所有关系。其构成规则如下：
（1）单数名词后直接加“’s”。例如: Mary’s玛丽的
（2）以s结尾的复数名词，只加“’”。例如：my friends’ 我朋友们的
（3）不以s结尾的不规则的复数名词，加“’s”。例如：
Children’s Day 儿童节
（1）表示时间、距离、城市等无生命的名词也可通过加“’s”构成所有格。例如：
five minutes’ walk 走路5分钟的路程
today’s newspaper 今天的报纸
（2）有些名词表示家宅、诊所、商店时，常去掉后面被修饰的词。例如：
at the doctor’s 在诊所
to my uncle’s 到我叔叔家
（3）of所有格：动物和无生命的名词所有格一般使用of介词短语来表示。例如：
the name of her cat 她的猫的名字
a photo of my school 一张我学校的照片
（4）表示两者共同拥有时，只在最后一个名词后加“’s”，表示两者各自拥有时，要在每个名词后加“’s”。例如：

重点4 序数词的构成和用法。
表示顺序的数词称为序数词。表示数目的数词称为基数词。
（1）基数词变序数词一般是在基数词后面加-th，但是也有一些特殊的变化，我们可以用下面的顺口溜来帮助记忆。
基变序，有规律，词尾-th加上去;
1, 2, 3特殊记，词尾字母t, d, d （first, second, third ）;
8去t （eight →eighth），9去e （nine→ ninth）;
ve要用f替（five→ fifth, twelve→ twelfth）;
见y变成i和e，再加th莫忘记（twenty→ twentieth）;
若要遇到几十几，只变个位就可以（forty-four→ forty-fourth）。
