Recently, we had a class discussion about whether it is necessary to tell white lies. Our opinions are divided/vary.
Many people believe that we need to tell some white lies in some moments in our life in order to avoid hurting others’ feelings. However, others argue that no one should tell lies, no matter what kind of lies. They insist that everybody should know the truth about himself in any case. A white lie is essentially a lie. People may feel cheated when knowing the truth eventually.
As far as I am concerned, when we tell a white lie, we had better take into consideration what the occasion at that time is and what the consequence brought by it is.
