Section B(第三、四课时)
1.inexpensive

②in-(im-, ir-)表示“不,无”。

2.convenient
convenient常用于“It is convenient for sb. to do sth.”
Please come round to my home if it is convenient for you.
误: Please come round to my home when you are convenient.
3.These are similar requests for directions.
We should make a request for help.
①request sth. (from sb.)
The boy requested some paper from me.
②request sb. to do sth.
She requested me to draw a map for her.

Could you please tell me where the restrooms are
1.Could you please tell me where the restrooms are
Do you know when the bookstore closed today
(1)引导宾语从句的疑问词包括:疑问代词(what, whom, who, whose, which)和疑问副词(when, where, why, how)。
Section A(第一、二课时)
Where should we have a picnic Could you please tell me →Could you please tell me where we should have a picnic
When will the band start playing this evening Do you know →Do you know when the band will start playing this evening
2.Excuse me, could you please tell me how to get to the bookstore
①“Could you please...?” / Certainly. / Yes, you can.”,否定回答多用“I’m afraid not. / No, you can’t.”。例如:
—Could I have a talk with Mr. Smith, please
—Certainly.
—Could I take the seat
—I’m afraid not.
Would you mind doing...
Would you please... 请……
Would you like... 吗?
Would you like to... 吗?
What about doing... 做……
Shall we do... 吧?
I’m wondering if you could...?
Excuse me, could you please tell me where the restroom is
—Please tell me your name.
—Pardon I didn’t hear clearly.
I’m sorry I broke down your pen.
3.Sure, just go along Main Street until you pass Center Street.
Excuse me, could you please tell me where...is?
Excuse me,can/could you tell me the way to...
Excuse me,could/can you tell me how to get/go to...
Excuse me, could you please tell me if there’s a/an....near here
Excuse me, which is the way to...
It is between the...and the...它在……和……之间。
It’s next to/ beside / across from...
It’s about 10 minutes’ walk. = It’s about 10 minutes on foot.
Turn right / left.
Take the second turning on the/your right.
Keep straight on until you get to...
You can take the No.+数字+bus and get off at...
4.I was scared at first, but shouting did help.
此句相当于“I was scared at first, but shouting really helped.”,原句是强调句。 do, did, does常译为“确实,真的; 一定,务必; 的确”。例如:
She does know the place well.
They did work hard last term.
5.Of course! I suggest Water City Restaurant in Water World.
(1)suggest sth. (to sb.)
He suggested a walk after supper.
(2)suggest doing sth.
She suggested going there by bike.
He suggested (that) we (should) do it at once.
【注意】在表示“建议某人做某事”时,可用advise sb. to do sth.,不能用suggest sb. to do sth.。
Do you have any suggestions
