There are many kinds of tigers all over the world,and the largest tiger is the Northeast Tiger. Most Northeast Tigers live in the northeast of China,like Heilongjiang Province and Jilin Province. Because there are many forests and mountains,the tigers usually like living there. In the forests and mountains,there are fewer people getting out and coming in,because people think it is dangerous. So the tigers are very free there. They can run after each other,catch and eat some small animals,like rabbits and deer.
The Northeast Tigers are different from the ordinary tigers. For example,the Northeast Tigers can swim very well,but they are not good at climbing trees. The Northeast Tigers’ hearing is the best,and no matter how low the sound is,they can hear it.
As the number of the tigers becomes smaller and smaller,we should protect the tigers as well as we can from now on.
根据短文内容,选择正确的答案。
1.Where do most Northeast Tigers enjoy living ( )

2.In the forests and mountains, why are there fewer people getting out

B.Because they are busy working.
C.Because they don’t like tigers at all.
3.The small animals are afraid that tigers ________.( )
A
A.catch them for food B.leave them alone C.live with them
4.The underlined words “run after” mean “________” in Chinese.( )

内容提示:
1.亚洲象(Asian elephant)主要生活在亚洲东南部(Southeast Asia)的森林(forest)中,体形巨大,主要以树叶、水果等为食物;
2.目前亚洲象处于濒危状态,主要是人类砍伐(cut down)森林,导致它们没有足够的食物,失去家园;人们为了获取象牙(ivories)而杀害它们,导致它们的数量越来越少;
3.建议:(1)政府需要建立(set up)更多的自然公园;

Asian elephants are very large animals. They live in the forests of Southeast Asia. They mainly feed on leaves and fruit. Now they are in danger. There are some reasons. People are cutting down forests, so they don’t have enough food and they’re losing their home. Also, people are killing them for their ivories. As a result, Asian elephants are becoming fewer and fewer. We must do something to save them.
In my opinion, the government needs to set up more nature parks. The government should make laws to stop people from killing them and stop the trade of ivories. Let’s protect them together.
