语篇研读
What：本课是北师大版《初中英语》八年级上册教材第2单元的第6课，话题为团队。属于“人与社会”这一话题范畴。本课为本单元的第三课，主要讨论在地震这一特殊时间下人们是如何依靠团队的力量走出困境的。文章主题与课内Abilities中What a brave young man 十分契合，且文体均属于新闻故事。
Why：本课侧重对阅读内容的理解，引导学生通过阅读获取有关一个团队在地震中如何自救的信息。在阅读活动中，引导学生提取主要信息和细节信息，并注意在描述一场地震时使用的相关词汇，最后结合语篇信息和语言进行输出活动。
How: 这篇文章按照时间顺序，依次描述了事情的起因、经过和结局。文章中的明线为“遭遇地震—组织求生—顺利脱险”，这是按照事件的发展来组织的。但其中又暗含众人心态的变化“灰心绝望—感到希望—充满感激”，其中的转折点就在Mr.Lin决定组建团队的时刻。所以有必要引导学生去探索转折点前后众人的心态变化，他们自然就能理解到为什么team work是如此的重要。同时，根据教材的提示，文章中使用了一些数字。这既体现了新闻“求真”的特点，也可以作为思考的突破口。比如，在描写地震时，“in just two minutes” 暗示了地震的破坏力巨大。“After twelve hours' walking”暗示了众人经历了一段艰难的路程。
教学目标
通过本课的学习，学生能够：
1.学习理解：在看、听、说的活动中，获取这一团队遭遇地震以及自救
细节信息，并从中体会新闻故事的语言特色。
应用实践：在教师引导和示范下，深入挖掘文章中的明线“遭遇地震—组织求生—顺利脱险”，这是按照事件的发展来组织的。但其中又暗含众人心态的变化“灰心绝望—感到希望—充满感激”
3.迁移创新：通过开放式、发散性问题，引导学生深层次阅读和理解文本，简要评价林先生和其他队员的人物品质和能力；引导学生学会在困难中团结合作、永不放弃。

Step 2 Warm- Up 文体预测 1.Where does the passage come from 2.What type of the passage is it T asks Ss to predict the type of the passage according to the picture and the title 读前预测。通过预测，激发学生读的兴趣，为学生在读中捕捉关键词做准备。
Step 3 1st reading一读 What happened to the team They were in the middle of a very strong . Step 4 1.Pair work: Why was it a special team 2.Group work: Do you think it was a great team 讨论这个special team中不同角色的贡献。 作为领导者， Mr Lin考虑周到，做事有计划，关键时刻勇敢站出来承担责任。 作为团队成员，他们听从命令，关照老人，成员之间互相鼓励。 3.最后学生生成：mini writing Write a letter to recommend this special team for this year's Great Team Award. 4.情感升华 You have two hands. One two help yourself. And the other to help those around you. 深化课文理解，突出团队精神。 2.总结升华：无论是复联这样的超级英雄，还是林先生这样的现实人物，我们都具有于助我、助他的能力。要学会运用自己的能力帮助他人。
Homework Have to do: Polish your recommendation letter and share with your classmates. Try to do: Make a poster to introduce your team.. 分层作业，学生进行个性化选择和完成；教师进行个性化评价。

It was a terrible day for Mr and Mrs Lin. The old couple was on holiday at a mountain resort. They were taking a walk in the early afternoon, when suddenly the ground started to shake. In just two minutes, everything changed completely! They were in the middle of a very strong earthquake!
The Lins tried to find some other people first. One by one, they found 23 other people. Many were tourists, young and old. Soon it was dark and it started to rain heavily. Some cried and some lost hope.
At that moment, Mr Lin decided to take the lead. He called for everyone’s attention and said, “The roads are too dangerous. We can’t go down the mountain until tomorrow. We must stay here tonight.” Then Mr Lin and a few young men went back to the ruins to look for food and blankets. They found some, but not enough for everyone. The young people gave theirs to the older ones.
After that, Mr Lin divided the people into five groups. Each group had a leader. He also collected all the mobile phones and made sure each group had one. They used them as flashlights. Every 30 minutes, the group leaders flashed their mobile phones, and the light in the dark rainy night made everyone feel safe.
Early the next morning, the groups started to go down the mountain. It was a difficult journey, but the group members encouraged and supported each other.
After twelve hours’ walking, they finally got out safely. By then, it was 30 hours after the earthquake. Everyone was tired but they felt lucky because they were part of a special team. This special team gave them hope for life.
