教学目标
知识目标: 复习状语从句,理解状语从句的定义和分类(时间、地点、原因、条件、目的、结果、让步、比较、方式等状语从句),弄清每一种状语从句的连词或词组,同时关注条件状语从句的时态 。 复习动词不定式的用法,理解其定义和句法功能,能在句中辨别作主语、表语、宾语、补足语、定语、状语成分。 能使用状语从句和动词不定式表达英语学习的方法。 能力目标: 完成课本习题,提高对状语从句和动词不定式语法知识的实际运用能力。 以英语学习为主题,谈论英语学习中遇到的问题和方法,提高英语表达能力。 情感目标: 培养学生良好的合作意识,了解英语学习的重要性,鼓励学生大胆表达想法和意愿。 通过谈论英语学习的问题,学会寻找适合自己的学习方法,提高自己的学习能力,成为出色的学习者。
教学内容
教学重点: 状语从句和动词不定式的用法。 教学难点: 状语从句和动词不定式的用法,运用状语从句及不定式解决实际问题。
教学过程
Step 1: Lead-in
Start with the questions: “Do you like English ”, “Do you have any problems in learning English ” to lead in the topic.
Introduce the exchange program between the school in New Zealand and our school. It’s a good chance for students to practice English. But it came to a stop because of the pandemic. Step 2: Presentation Get students to notice the conjunctions and “to do” in the given sentences. As the international exchange program continues, students in our school are looking forward to their study trips in foreign countries and their counterparts’ coming to our school. So students’ love and interest for English language learning becomes so great that they try their best to find ways to improve themselves. Show students adverbial clauses and infinitives by describing what problems students have in English study and how they improve English. Students go to the English corner and listen to English programs _______ they can improve their listening. Students make an effort ________(learn) English grammar and read a lot _______ they want __________(achieve) high marks in English tests. Students take every chance ______(talk) to the foreign teacher _________(improve) their spoken English. _____ students meet the foreign teacher, they take every chance to talk to them. ____ they keep practicing and revising every day, they will make great progress.
Analyze each sentence and explain different types of adverbial clauses and the functions of infinitives. Step 3: Grammar focus&Language practice Ask students to read the sentences on page 60. Pay attention to the words in red and analyze their structures. It’s also the subject that I’m best at, although my spoken English is not that good. I can speak English with you whenever we meet. As China continues to grow, many people think that Chinese will become as common as English by the middle of the twenty-first century. I hope I can continue to make progress next year. The British, the Indians and the Chinese all help (to) make it a rich language. 条件状语从句的时态 在含有条件状语从句的复合句中,如果主句的时态是一般将来时,从句时态一般用一般现在时;如果主句含有情态动词should, can, must等,从句也常用一般现在时;如果主句为祈使句,从句也用一般现在时。 If it rains tomorrow, we will put off the trip. 动词不定式可以和what/where/when/how/which等疑问词连用,在句中充当某种成分。 I don’t know how to repair my computer. 使役动词make/let/have及感官动词see/hear/watch/notice等后接不带to的动词不定式作宾语补足语。 The boss made them work 12 hours a day. I often see him help the old man. Practise infinitives Activity 2 Complete the sentences with the correct form of the words in brackets. 1. She is a bright and hard-working student, and we are very proud of her at this school. Ned needs to make an effort to improve his handwriting. All he needs is a few minutes on it every day. If he practises it, his handwriting will certainly improve. Toby seems not to be as interested in schoolwork as he is in sport. He will make good progress in all his subjects if he works harder.
