一、教材分析
1.单元及课文分析
本单元的主要内容是谈论中国以及一些以英语为母语的国家的概况。旨在通过听力、对话练习、讨论、游戏等活动形式帮助学生了解几个以英语为第一语言的国家的地理位置、国旗、标志性建筑物、特有动物、自然景观等主要情况;同时,复习本册书所学到的特殊疑问句,这也是本单元的语法重点;本单元的写作任务是能用简短的语言介绍本国或某个以英语为母语的国家的概况。
2. 教学重难点:How to describe China in English.
3. 教学目标:(1) 知识目标
a. Words and phrases: language, else, flag, palace, the Palace Museum, lovely
b. Key sentences:
What language do people speak in China? They speak Chinese.
What countries are east of China? Canada and the U.S. are east of China.
What else do you know about China?
(2) 情感目标:让学生了解中国,热爱中国。

教学过程
Step1. Class Opening (5 minutes)
Sing a song: Singing our country
Do you know why do we listen to this song? That’s right .Today we’ll talk about our country, China.
(设计思路:师生一起唱歌,营造一种轻松愉快的课堂气氛,使学生很快投入到课堂中)
Step2: New Concepts (30 minutes)
1. Show a map of China and ask some questions:
What city is it?( Point to the star on the map.)
What’s the capital (city) of China?
What do you know about Beijing?
(Maybe Ss can’t say anything in English. Tell them Chinese is OK.)
(设计思路:同学们对自己的祖国很熟悉,所以会积极地回答这些问题,从而引入到今天的主要话题中)

3. Listen and read:

a. Play the audiotape for Part2 of the text. Ask the class to listen first and then to read aloud with the audiotape. Play the audiotape twice.

的关键)
4. Show some pictures on the screen
