They are recording and collecting digital images of cultural relics from the Mogao Caves, which were a key stop along the Silk Road throughout China’s ancient history. Nearly 500,000 high-quality digital photographs have been produced since the international project started in 1994.

Last Friday, our school held an activity about forest fire prevention. Over 500 teachers and students took part.
First, we watched several short videos about how forest fires start, how dangerous they can be and what to do to prevent them. Then, each class designed their own blackboard display showing the dangers of forest fires and action we should take in our daily life to prevent forest fires.
The students who were involved thought the activity was meaningful because it let them realize forest fires can be deadly but they can do something to prevent and control them.

Every day, the senior teacher, Chen Lei, takes his camera and takes photos of old buildings no matter whether it rains or shines. When asked the reason why he does so, he usually says. "A picture is worth a thousand words, so taking photos is a good way to protect cultural relics."
