教材分析 The core topic of this unit is “food”.The function of this unit is to let students master different kinds of food and the basic expressions of ordering food. In this pat , Ss will know the different eating habits of birthday around the world that broaden Ss’ horizons and cultivate their culture awareness. Ss will not only be asked to master the main idea and the details, but also need to know the comparison of cultures between western and eastern countries.In the part of 2a, Ss will have a free talk about what they do or eat on their birthday. In the 2b, Ss will read a passage about the different eating habits of birthday around the world. Though reading, Ss can find the key words and complete the chart based on the passage. In the part of 2c, Ss will should answer the four questions based on the content of passage.
学情分析 The target of the unit is the students of Grade 7 of Xi’an Handu No.1 School.They possess a certain language ability and foundation.Also they have initial ability to study independently, cooperate with others, and practice. The students have already learned some words of food and the countable noun and uncountable noun in unit 6 Do you like bananas from the first volume of Grade 7, and also learned about how to talk about price in Unit 7 How much are these socks from the first volume of Grade 7. Above all, student have already had the initial perception of the content of this unit.The majority of students have some difficulties in learning English who need more guidance and practice.The reading strategies and skills should be promoted and there is still problem in time controlling and abstracting the key information.In the writing part, many of the students’ writing is just like Chinese English.
