IV. Teaching Process
Step 1: Introduction
① Show a video clip about volunteers helping others to spark students' interest.
② Discuss the scenarios in the video and lead to the topic of the unit - Helping Hands Club.
Step 2: Vocabulary Learning
① Display the vocabulary list for the unit and have students read aloud and try to spell.
② Explain the meanings and usage of the vocabulary through pictures and example sentences.
Step 3: Sentence Structure Learning
① Present the key sentence structures, such as "I can help you with..." and "Can you do something for... "
② Have students practice by replacing words in the sentence structures.
Step 4: Group Discussion
① Divide students into groups and have them discuss their own abilities and ways they can help others.
② Each group selects a representative to report their findings to the class.
Step 5: Role-play
① Design different scenarios (e.g., school, community) and have students role-play situations where they offer help.
② Encourage students to fully express their emotional attitudes in the role-plays.
Step 6: Conclusion and Homework
① Summarize the key points and difficulties of the lesson.
② Assign homework: Have students write a story about helping someone, using the vocabulary and sentence structures learned in class.
