定义：一般过去时表示“过去某个时间或某一段时间内发生的动作或存在的状态”。

4、规则动词过去式的变化规律。

（3）、重读闭音节单词需双写最后一个辅音字母，再加-ed；例如：stop -- stopped；plan -- planned
（4）、以辅音字母加y结尾的动词，改y为i，再加-ed；例如：study -- studied；worry -- worried

关于一般过去时的两种结构及举例：
含有be动词的一般过去时：
肯定句：
主语 + be(was/were) + 其它；例如：They were on vacation last month.他们上个月在度假。
否定句：
主语 + be(was/were) not + 其它；例如：They were not at home yesterday. 他们昨天没在家。
一般疑问句：
Be(Was/ Were) + 主语 + 其它 例如：Was they boy 12 years old last year 这个男孩去年12岁吗？回答：Yes , he was. 是的，他十二岁。\ No , he wasn’t. 不， 他不是十二岁。
实义动词的一般过去时时态：
肯定句：
主语 + 动词的过去式 + 其它；例如：He played basketball yesterday. 他昨天打了篮球。
否定句：
主语 + didn't+动词原形 + 其它；例如：He didn't play basketball yesterday. 他昨天没打篮球。
一般疑问句：
Did + 主语 +动词原形+ 其它 例如：-Did he play basketball yesterday 他昨天打篮球了吗？
