The volunteer work I want to do
The volunteering spirit has spread among the Chinese people in recent years, especially among young people. As for me, I want to volunteer at a shelter for animals.
As we all know, animals are our friends but now many animals are in danger. So I would like to try my best to protect them.First, I will spend half a day every week staying at the animal shelter. I can do some cleaning and look after them.Second, I plan to sell some of my things that I hardly use to raise money, and then help animals at the shelter have a good environment to live. Last Sunday, there was an activity in Xingfu Community.More than 100 students who were willing to be volunteers took an active part in the activity. And surprisingly, many students have helped the old for over three years .
At the old people's home, students helped them with housework like doing the dishes and taking out the rubbish at first. Then they prepared some shows for the old people. Some preferred to dance while others decided to sing songs. All the old people were quite happy as if they saw their own grandchildren. After that, we worked as listeners to learn about what the old people's past life was like. It was really a good chance to exchange some ideas with the old people.
During the activity, I not only learn the life before but also realize that our grandparents need love and care from us.Therefore, I am determined to visit my grandparents more often in the future.
I'm glad to tell you that there was an activity about helping the old in Xingfu Road Community.There were over 100 students who are willing to join this activity with their passion and excitement.
As soon as we got there, we immediately took actions to help the old. As well as washing the dishes, we folded the clothes and took out the rubbish for the old people. All the students made their efforts to tidy up the old people's home. Some students provided them with wonderful performances such as dancing and singing. Finally, before we left, they shared their life in the past and we listened carefully and patiently, which reminded them of good times before.
If everyone volunteers to help others in need a little, the world will get better. Moreover, such volunteering activities can help the students develop their sense of responsibility and life skills.
