(22-23七年级下·广东广州·期末)We are lucky to live in a rich country where we have many things. However, most of us usually waste some things.

The second thing that we often waste is water. Fresh water is precious(宝贵的), so it shouldn’t be wasted. It is only a simple matter of turning off a tap. I am sure everybody can do this easily if he wants to.

Things are always changing, like the clock, the weather, and even me. It seems nothing ever stays the same.
My life has been full of changes. Sometimes I don’t feel good about them, but then later it gets better.
Taffy, my kitty, ran away. We have looked for him all over, but we cannot find him anywhere. I miss Taffy a lot, and I am sad.
Dad says that we can get another kitty. That makes me feel better. I don’t know what I will name him, but I will always remember Taffy.
My best friend, Robin, just moved away. The moving van took away everything, and the house is empty. I wish Robin were here to play with me.
The day I started the new school year, I was scared of all the new children in my class. I was afraid that they wouldn’t like me, and that I couldn’t run as fast as they do.
Now I am happy because I have made lots of new friends. I like Sarah and Ana, and Mary Lou, who makes me laugh. I love my class and my teacher.
Mom just took a new job at an office downtown. She’s not here when I come home from school. My Aunt Barbara is here to give me cookies and milk.
Then I wait and wait for Mom to come home. When the hands of the clock point straight up and down, she comes home, and that makes me happy.
Things are always changing, even with me. Yesterday I looked in the mirror. My face looked like a Halloween pumpkin because I lost my first tooth.

(21-22七年级下·广东广州·期末)We often have practice for a fire at school, and we all know the dangers of fires. But it’s good and necessary for a family to learn how to prepare for a fire. Here are suggestions.
Put a smoke alarm in the house. Smoke from a fire causes the alarm to go off. The alarm makes a loud sound. The sound tells everyone to leave the house at once.
Make escape(逃脱)plans. We should know all the ways out of the house. If there is a fire, everyone follows the plan to get out. Part of the plan is to check all the windows to make sure they can be opened easily.
Buy fire extinguishers(灭火器). Everyone in the family should know how to use them.
Practice for a fire. We do fire practice because we teach children about fire safety. Everyone in the family should know the following fire rules:
Don’t open a hot door! The fire can grow more quickly if you open the door.
Stay close to the floor! Smoke can be more dangerous than fire. The best is near the floor because smoke rises.
What will you do if your hair or clothes start to burn First, stop! Don’t run! The fire burns faster because of more air. Drop! Fall to the floor. Then roll! Turning over and over will make the fire go out.

(21-22七年级下·广东广州·期末)Last week, a boy called Bobby wrote to me, saying that he had a problem with his father. His father was nice, but very busy. When they were together, they just sat there without saying anything and it made both of them look foolish. He didn’t know what to talk about with his father. He asked me for advice.
Here is what I wrote back:
Dear Bobby,
I think you can try telling your father everything you told me in your letter. But if you’re still afraid to do that,
here are some helpful ways to start a talk.
First, remember that everyone loves to talk about themselves. You can ask your father something about himself. For example, you can ask him, “What’s something you loved to do in your childhood, but you never have time for these days ” You will learn something about him and have a lot of new things to talk about next time. Another way is to tell him about something bad in your daily life. Ask him about a time when he was also troubled. You could change “troubled” to any other word, such as worried, unhappy and so on. Here’s one more tip: You can find thousands of questions online. If your father asks why you have so many interesting questions, tell him that you find them online and you think they’re fun.
Yours,
Aunt Linda
Problems are always there but you can find a way to get through the difficult time. If you have problems like the boy, you can also try the advice. I hope all of you can live a happy family life!

to fly a kite or to sail a boat. Wind is one of our cleanest and richest power source(来源), as well as one of the oldest. People began to use windmills(风车)in West Asia about 2700 years ago. During the 1100s, European soldiers returned from the Middle East and they knew how to use wind power. Then windmills first appeared in Europe.
For many centuries, people used windmills to make wheat(小麦)into flour(面粉)or get water from deep underground. When people discovered electricity in the late 1800s, people living in faraway areas began to use windmills to produce electricity. This allowed them to have electric lights and radio. However, by the 1940s when almost all areas of the United States burned fossil fuel(化石燃料)for electricity, windmills disappeared.
During the 1970s, people started to care about the pollution from burning fossil fuel. People also came to know that the fuel would run out one day. Although using wind power means more money, people still began to use it and the use of wind is becoming more and more popular.

If your town or city doesn’t have an organization like that, why not start one yourself Tree by tree, you can make a difference.
Reduce paper use
It’s important to start seeing the connection between the trees you love and the products you use. If you’re crazy about saving trees, look for ways to use fewer paper products in your daily life:
● Use cloth towels instead of paper towels. It’s a simple change that can reduce a lot of unnecessary waste.
