一些职业类名词的构成

1. 许多职业类名词的构成是有规律的，具体规则如下：
(1)一般在动词词尾加-er,如:
sing—singer, play—player, teach—teacher, wait—waiter, work—worker;
(2)在一些以e结尾的动词后直接加-r,如:
write—writer, dance—dancer, drive—driver;
(3)在一些动词词尾加-or,如:
visit—visitor, invent—inventor, act—actor;
(4)在一些名词词尾加-ist,如:
art—artist;
(5)在一些名词后加-man/-woman,如:
post—postman, fire—fireman, police—policeman/policewoman。

1.What is/are sb.
人物是第三人称单数时，be动词用is；人物是第二人称或第三人称复数时，be动词用are。如：

动名词的用法

动名词由动词变化而来，在形式上与现在分词相同，大多是在动词原形的词尾加-ing。动名词具有名词的性质，可以在句子中充当主语、表语、宾语、定语，但是不能充当状语。动名词的常见用法如下：
1. 动名词在句子中作主语(谓语动词通常用单数形式)
Working in this place is a pleasure.

Mr Yu’s hobby is collecting calligraphy and painting.
