Great Heat, the 12th solar term of the year, begins this year on July 22 and ends on August 6. During Great Heat, most parts of China enter the hottest season of the year. Here is something you should know about Great Heat.
Great Heat is a season of harvesting(收割). During this time, the sunshine, high temperatures, and heavy rainfall are good for the plants. But many natural disasters also happen. So, it's important to harvest and plant in time.
Sending the Great Heat ship is a tradition in Taizhou. The ship is full of all kinds of meat. More than 50 fishermen take turns carrying the ship as they walk through the streets. The ship will finally be pulled out of the port and burned at sea. People believe that is a symbol of good harvests and health.
Great Heat is a season with most crickets(蟋蟀) in the countryside. Cricket fighting is a popular game for some people in China during this period. The custom dates back over 1,000 years ago.
People in different places enjoy different food. For example, in southern Shandong, people would like to drink mutton soup. Grass jelly is very popular in Guangdong because there is a saying “Eating grass jelly in Great Heat will make you stay young.”
21. Which of the following shows the structure of the passage (P=Paragraph)

Early one October morning, a nice woman sent a young magpie (喜鹊) to my home for care. The magpie flew into the front window of a truck and got hurt, but luckily the woman was passing by.
With my care, the young magpie was doing well, but he was not happy to find himself in a cage (笼子). Several days later, his wings were fine and nothing else was broken. He recovered. I decided to drive him to where he was found. When I arrived, I got the cage out of the car and opened the door. I offered my arm. He jumped onto it and looked around. I could see he knew where he was.
Next to us was a tree. He flew straight to the top to join a wagtail(鹡鸽). The wagtail made lots of high singing and flew off across the field. The young magpie remained on the top of the tree. I began to worry as he still needed his parents.
The next minute I heard the singing of the wagtail again. He was flying back and two large magpies followed. They landed on either side of the young magpie, and then put their heads in the air and sang excitedly.

Any opportunity to expose children to more vegetables is meaningful. “If children are learning about vegetables at school, it's important to encourage this interest,” says Jones. Parents can listen to their children about what they have learned and read the handouts they bring home from school. Parents and children can also read books together. Younger children can enjoy reading stories about vegetables with parents who offer useful message.
Older children may enjoy searching through cookbooks with parents to find new dinner ideas to cook vegetables in a tasty way. Besides, a small planter box in a sunny part at home can encourage children to understand more about where their food comes from.
Teaching children to grow their own produce is a great way to increase their preference for the produce. If children are taught to enjoy vegetables early in life, they will probably continue eating vegetables in the long term.

A. Ideas to Encourage Children to Cook at Home
